Heel and Toe

Heel and Toe
Do people do this in these cars while downshifting into turns? or when going on off ramps on highway?
seems a bit difficult with the gas pedal sitting so low compared to brakes, but just wanted to know if people do it and if it is possible to do it easily in this car.

No, it's not easy to heel-toe in the tC2. Of course, it is possible to heel-toe in the tC2 but because of how the pedals are laid out, it's unlikely that more than only a handful of tC2 drivers actually use the heel-toe technique. Modifying the pedals so they're even with each other would make it easier. You also have to remember that heel-toe downshifts are used by race car drivers in performance driving. The tC2 isn't exactly a performance car, as is shown with how toyota laid out the pedals. It wasn't designed or meant for heel-toe downshifts.

its just that i have trouble braking and downshifting and would like to do it simultaneously. but i see, then a performance car like an STI would have a more friendly pedal position for this right?
I guess I'll just stick to my regular downshifts in daily driving.
Thank you for confirming! glad it's not just me being stupid as always hah.

I can't speak for the STI's pedals but I would imagine they are a more performance-oriented setup than our tC's. You could always modify your accelerator to make it more natural to heel-toe if you really wanted to learn and practice it. All it would take is a block of some material like some light wood or plastic on top of your accelerator pedal to elevate it, then finish it out with some pedal covers, so it'd match the brake and clutch. No one would know better if you did it like that

honestly,idk..havent driven the tc2 yet.....the main issue with the tc1 was the accerlerator pedal, there was a dead spot in there, meanning, you got no throttle response until you push the pedal by the half way position, maybe not the far,but that was harder when you would do the heel and toe,but there has been a fix for that,i know on mine,i fix it,any lil pressure i get response,

so we can do it in this car w/o even pedal mods? do you have to push the heel down a bit more than expected to give that gas pedal a proper bump to rev match? because that's the only problem i noticed so far. haven't really tried it successfully yet though.
