Question HID Flickering Driving Over Bumps?

So, I just installed a 6000K 55W HID kit from DDM. The lights work well and turn on with no issue, but there's a minor problem. It seems that whenever I'm driving and hit a bump in the road, the passenger side light will flicker for a bit, but then it stops (as long as the road gets smooth). I thought it may be the ballast that's a little loose under the hood, but both the bulb and ballast are secured. Anyone know what the problem might be?

I had the same issue but mine would always flicker. I picked up some from DDM Tuning and haven't had a problem since.

Huh? He's saying he's having problems with DDM.

Just get them to warranty the set, they're pretty good with that, and get a 35W set, 55W is unnecessary and can be problematic.

Woops, missed that. Mine were cheap eBay lights, then I got the DDM's and have not had issues

It's all good. Found out I cracked the bulb during install. Was trying to seat the light in the housing without knowing I had to cut the plastic ring off the bottom of the light. So, I'm guessing trying to force the light in cracked the bulb right at the base

Thats reassuring dude. Thanks. I'm not sure what you had to cut tho, can you elaborate?

I had HID Extra and after week 1 the driver side would always slightly move side to side (very slightly, very annoying) aside from the ballast blowing out a few weeks later.
I am now going to try DDM before I go to an expensive kit.
$30 with good reviews was impossible to resist.

From DDM, the base of each bulb has a clear plastic ring around it. Before you install the bulbs, you need to cut the plastic ring off and push the orange rubber seal down on the base. The passenger side bulb was the first one I tried installing, without knowing that I needed to cut that ring off. So I kept trying to force the bulb into the housing, and I'm guessing that's where I cracked the bulb.

Other than that, no complaints with the DDM HID kit. The lights are nice and bright, and the colour is very pure

I had the exact same issue with my HID's from MengMotorsports. The instructions didn't mention that the black o-ring had to be removed...
Jammed one HID in but the other wouldn't go in. Had to find out by the helpful people on this forum. Sucks that the bulb cracked for you though

Good to hear that you like the lights though!
