Not enough time in the day is absolutely correct! The wiring takes no time at all though man. Quick connects did not work for me, so I needed to actually splice them into the parking light wires.

I never upgraded to Morimotos. I have been having no trouble with the DDMs as of late. I really want to though because I feel as though they aren't quite as bright as they used to be. It could all be in my mind though since maybe I've just become that used to them.

Whenever I feel like dropping $150 on them I'll certainly grab them. If nothing else, just for the quicker warm-up time. I hate how long the DDMs take to start up...very dim and blue in the beginning.

I've noticed mine slightly dimming/changing color over time as well. Not that big of deal but it kinda bugs.

I'm actually going to wire my halo's to the yellow ignition wire in the fuse box so they come on when I put my key in the 1st ignition position....hello DRL

I'll be tricking out my other set of lights soon with some mini h1 and 55w morimoto's with XB halos, should be pretty badass when its all done...jsut searching for the time LOL

Dude that's awesome man! I considered going the DRL route, but since they aren't noticeable in sunlight, I figured it would be a waste of wear and tear on them.

Are you going to go with the retro-quick set from TRS? I considered doing that when I baked open my headlights the first time but chickened out lol. I also hear that the mini h1 is small and doesn't take too well with kits over 35w.

Well the Xb halo's are crazy bright and I'm sure will work great, they are supposedly brighter than the new bmw ones and those are very visible in the daytime. Plus they are rated at 50 - 60,000 hrs...not worried with them lasting ha!

Yeah I am going to get the mini h1 retro kit from trs, I haven't heard if it's good or bad to run 55w with those...I will just call them before I order and make sure I get the right kit. I just want my lights to be as bright as possible, my night vision sucks haha.

I hear they have a v6.0 coming out for the mini h1 projector, so I will wait to get my kit until those are out

Ohhh, you aren't rocking the Xtec ones...you've got the Morimotos in? Good for you!...I should have gone that route sigh...

And I'm pumped to see how your retrofit goes man...if all goes well, I'll definitely be making that move along with the 5Five HID kit

MH1's are good projectors, but you won't be able to get rotation adjustments with it. I would look at the FX-r 3.0. Better projector and rotation adjustments as well

Steve, I actually have the xtec ones right now.....I've had them installed for months, finally wired em up yesterday haha. I must say they look awesome!!! A touch more blue in person closer to 6k in temp, exactly what I was looking for. Since I am doing the retro though I want all my halo's to match hence switching to the XB's, plus they are brighter and there is no gap in the circle. Are you in the tc2ftw group on fb? I posted some pics there last night.

Can't wait to start my next light project, definitely learned a lot from this one.

Will those projectors fit in our highbeam housing though? Also wondering how much harder the install will be? The MH1 seems pretty simple to retro very minimal cutting, just have to set your rotation before you seal the headlight back up.

Maybe I'll try the FX-r for the stock projector location at a later time

I am sending my lights out to a friend that does retrofitting services. I will be doing FX-r in both the high and low beams. So if you would like to wait until I am done, then I can give some more answers. But there will be a lot of cutting involved.

I want FX-R's sigh. I just am scared to death to cut up my headlights and I don't feel like dropping a ton of money to have them professionally done.

Just threw a Yakima rack on it.

Not pictured are new StopTech slotted front rotors and EBC Redstuff pads. I only have about 260 miles on them and just finished the bed-in process. Now just waiting for the awful and embarrassing squealing to go away!! EBC advises it could take 500-1000 miles .

Noooo don't tell me that! Did you have the Redstuff pads as well? So far I'm at about 350 miles and still getting squeal.

And yeah, there are way too many posers getting racks just for show. Ridiculous becuase those things are way to expensive just to get for show.
