"Opulence" (Black 'n Gold Build)

I painted. I tried vinyl but I'm new to modding and all this... it didn't turn out pretty. But, the paint looks dam fine in person... like it should have been put out that way in the first place.

When I paint the next few things I hope to paint I will be sure to document it for you all.
It's pretty straight forward though.. I sanded the smoother pieces to give them a tad bit of texture before painting. Cleaned thoroughly with prep-spray until masking tape stuck well.
Applied spray adhesive, painted, and clear-coated. Any blemishes/runs/mosquitoes were wet-sanded out with VERY FINE sandpaper and everything got a Maguiars Ultimate rub-down afterwards.
**Yes, i had mosquitoes land on my peices when drying... a few times.
The following is the most notable example of the Mosquito's havok. Barely noticeable... but it's there.

It only takes two/three hours and then you can put it all back into the car.
Your blue will look sweet as long as you keep it a tad more simple. I would do a darker blue on the dash trim (around the radio and mirror controls etc) and a lighter blue on the door handles/vents etc.
I also plan to do a quick run-down on how to tear apart a majority of the interior as well as the outer emblems. So hopefully I can get my girlfriend to let me borrow her camera tomorrow to record some footage.

you think that's better than same blue all around?
yeah at first i've been thinking to do all the silver trim. just them. then i saw wellesley's red vinyl. and now yours. eer if i had just time and money to do it... i've been insufficient funds since last month. ahahahha hopefully i'll be able to do some on my dayoff...

The paint isn't expensive... probably one can of each for adhesive, color, and clear-coat is all you will need... and half a day. Like I said, you can put the parts back into your car as little as 1 hour after the last clear-coat... just be careful not to touch them too much in doing-so.
Now, if you were to paint something outside the car I would wait until the next day to put it back on.

A couple giant bags of soda-cans can go a long way. 20$ will buy you pretty much all of what you need to add some color.
It's clean, but yet it pops. Just make sure to use a very thin brush when painting in the letters... get the brush nice and wet and let the paint spread out into the letters. It pretty much paints itself if done that way.

Yeah... it was near impossible to mask off the letters. So I spray painted a couple layers of black onto the emblem... let it sit for an hour or so. Then shot the rattle-can gold into a cup and dabbed the paint into the letters... let dry and then clear-coated.
Was the best option I found through trial and error.
