^^^ Call your local dealer with the part number

Has anyone tried this? Neither of the 2 local dealers can find the kit. Both searched with the part number 001137162162443 and just searching the database.

UPDATE: And this is why we wait for the Scion specific person. Parts guy who works with Scion got back from lunch and found the item in about 30 seconds. Couple notes for people who are considering buying this. 1. It's not listed in the "normal" parts system. (Whatever that means) 2. If the dealer tries to mark up the part, tell them you've seen it for $29.99. (yes, that's what just happened)

Yes it is in Associated Parts not the normal system, and yes $29.99 no mark up.

Open the door on your tC, he is talking about the black frame around the window.

i assume it will look like this?

IMO if this is how it might look, it might seem off since the black B pillar cuts into the white

yea thats the idea, but you need to also remove the black A pillar sticker

Example from the xB:
Just the A-Pillar

all of it removed:

yea thats a given =D

I just changed the part i thought you were talking about to not cause confusion

i'm kinda glad that's removable cause the older toyota cars use to have the frame color keyed but now all toyotas have that part blacked out. it looks fine when the door is closed but when you open it it looks odd to me.

It'd look good if you can get the side mirror base color coded too. Otherwise the black on the mirror looks weird.

True. But I think it still would look odd, cause the piece next to the back windows are black plastic (not a sticker) and I can see removing those to be a nightmare with who knows what is underneath.

yea, leave it the way you have it now, the mirror area will only cause an awkward appearance.

I think I am going to leave it as is. Not just from the mirror, but I dont want to see whats going on under the plastic trim on the frame either. LOL
