if i remember when Ted was waiting for it to come back, he said its the actual top, not a cf wrapped top. so it should be lighter...but i dont believe that was his goal seeing as he would be saving 0.1 lbs

^^^LOL!!!!

A sonicator uses sound energy to agitate particles in a sample, ending in a seperation of particles and material.

While, an autoclave is an instrument used to sterilize equipment and supplies by subjecting them to high pressure saturated steam.

^^^ Well look at that! You learn something new every day... I was confused as to why you were talking about autoclaves... my wife being in the Biotech field and what not...

Yeah, I was just poking fun at you having a little composite factory going in some shed behind the plant.

Hi guys,

New to the forum. Have a metallic grey tc2 for about 2 weeks now. No pics yet, I'll probably just take 'em when the car is finished. So far I haven't done anything major, just interior LED light swap, license plate, corners etc. Getting the TRD springs installed Monday along with some 18x8 TSW Jaramas in gloss black. 6000K HIDs are on the way.

One question for Wellesly: Those wheels, did you have to do any other modification to fit them or are they all good just to slap on there? I didn't see anything specific posted either way. Reason I'm asking is because I ordered the +40 offset of those TSWs, but they also make a +20 offset which should only be a few mm more sunk than your wheels. But since they are only 8 inch width the tire will not be as stretched as yours, I'm just going to use the stock tire as well. And with the TRD drop I don't really think there would be any clearance problems if you do not have any issues on your tC. I'd much rather have the +20 offset to get more flush instead of slapping spacers on after the fact, in addition to the extra lip. Thanks for the reply in advance, and nice ride.

Get the +20's. Those +40's will be sunken battle ships...

No modifications needed btw, mine fit just fine...

Yeah, that's what I will do. I checked an offset calc and the +40s will be slightly less sunk than stock, but that's not enough for me I was going to add in some spacers. I wasn't sure if the +20s would fit without having to do any other mods with the TRD drop, but they should be alright if yours are with the S-techs. Thanks.

Well I ended up going with the +40s, not because the stance was better but because the lip was a little to deep for my taste. So I'll just throw some 15mm spacers on there to achieve the stance/lip combo. Even now the wheels look pretty good in my opinion, but I'm gonna hold off on pics I'll get the spacers in first.

Ted, I first found ScionLife because I found a link on Google to your build thread, and since then I've joined SL (obviously), and ordered a '12 M6 RS 7.0. Since your build was what really "inspired" me to begin with, I find myself coming back to this thread and reading through your mods and trying to figure out how to do a super clean build once my RS gets delivered. Unfortunately, I usually spend more time searching for what I'm looking for than actually looking at what I'm looking for. So, the other night, the hospital was super slow and I didn't have much going on for a while, and after glancing through your thread for a bit, I figured I'd write a breakdown of your build pages and if you wanted to revise it and clarify a few things, I think it would be great to add to the beginning of the thread for others looking for certain aspects of your build. Hope it helps?
