I just took the rear off. It is pretty simple. No disassemble required. All I did was stick a little plastic knife under it and "cut" it away from the glue. Make sure you don't break the little tabs that stick out of the emblem. You can see where they are in the picture. Because it was like 40 out when I did it I also used a blow dryer to heat it up. There are also two little pieces of plastic sticking out of it but they are not clips. Just there for alignment. DO NOT use anything metal to separate the glue it will scratch the crap out of the car. Even with my little plastic knife it still left some marks. Once I got it off I pulled the glue off the trunk lid with my fingers and then I windexed the back of the emblem and shaved the glue residue off with my little plastic knife. One thing I don't know about is what kind of adhesive/glue to use to re-apply it. Any ideas?

EDIT: now that I think about it, it would probably be best and safest to use floss to remove the rear emblem.

LOL, I just found that. The 3m plastic and emblem adhesive. I'm going to use that then, Thanks.

How well does it hold. It seems like that would be easier to take off if i had to remove the emblem again.

can't someone just walk up to it and pull it off with their hands if you use double sided tape?

Dbl sided tape is real strong until the diet time it gets ripped off then it doesn't stick for ____. And yes if u really want that emblem u could walk up and rip it off but odds are us scratch/Dmg the emblem rendering it useless to the theaf.

lol for those who are planning on pulling this off i strongly suggest that you go to Panera Bread or safeway or something and get one of their membership cards to cut the glue i just did it and it came off clean with no scratches what so ever

Luckily, my mother drives a Toyota Rav4 2005 so I debaged it

It did not have the black backing and did not really fit. It popped out a second after I took the pic

Conclusion:
2005 Rav4 doesnt work (Unless brute force is used of course)

....Keep looking
i've been helping my friend fix up his tsx and he had some left over carbon fiber wrap which should be around 30-40 on amazon cause it's actually textured, but if you want a cheaper alternative i they something called carbon fiber "stickers" at most pep boys or auto-zone for like 4 bucks and i just placed it over the black piece above and trimmed around it

I mounted the real emblem today using 3m stuff. Some of it oozed out a little but it is very hard to see because the emblem goes into a recessed panel. The paint i used looks a little messed up, the emblems look like they have a disease. Glow in the dark looks cool though. Cant get it on camera though. I will probably re do these once it gets warmer in spring

Lol. I would do emblem-less if I had a different tC but I think it'd take the fact that it's a release series scion tC away from it. Not to mention I'm a broke full time college student doing about 20 units a semester lol I barely have money for gas as sad as it sounds.

I used this
Amazon Amazon

It just makes the emblem look matted. I think I painted it in temperatures too low because it looks like crap. the emblems look spotted and diseased. It is a pain in the butt, but I am going to leave them on till it is warm enough to re-paint. They do glow well though, problem is they only glow for about a minute after light is taken off them. if I could go back in time I still would have done it though.

debadgin a car never takes away from THE CAR. it only adds the WOW and Curiosity factor. I think bmw 335is is the only one that may suffer from debadging since it looks like any other 3 series but is second to M3

whats ur major?

Lol that's the thing though I really don't plan on keeping this car for too long. I was actually suppose to get an M3 but it's my first car so my mom didn't trust me with it. I'm double majoring in Econ and poli sci.
