Question about pricing and negotiation
Hello all,
So my dealer gave me this sheet, basically what a car sticker would look like for a base tc, with a manual.
Altogether for the car, dealer fees, and 2 optional extras (tints and mats), it came out to 20,400. Does that seem about right?
All thats left is taxes and plate exchange so I am thinking at that price then I can expect to pay about 22k OTD?
And if thats the case how much do you think I can negotiate down from there?
Thanks
Danny

You pretty much don't. They may be able to knock down some dealer fees, but that will be negligible I'm sure.
You might be a hair cheaper than 22k though. I had a handful of options (BluLogic, Spoiler, Alpine, Floor Mats, Fog Lights) and I was outta there under 24k. And that was WITH an extended 6yr 100k bumper to bumper warranty.

Dealer fees will vary, but I'm just speaking from my own experience. So the only conclusion that you could draw would be if you went to my exact same dealer and got that car with only floor mats and tints extra, you should be under 22k

scion does a pure price thing, where the price of the car is non negotiable. maybe theyll work with you on the other stuff, but dont expect to get much off if any

also.....if your trading a car, you only pay taxes on the difference. Goose is right about the pure price....it's non-negotiable; however one area most people fail to negotiate is interest rate. Yeah its based on your credit, but a good salesman can actually fight to lower your rate if youre on the fence. It may not seem like much, but the difference between say 5% and 5.25% can lower your monthly payment significantly and save you more over the life of the loan. I missed the best interest rate by 3 points on my credit score (3%) and qualified for 3.25%, but the salesman talked to the finance guy who called toyota finance and they gave me 3%.

I was around 20000 plus tax. I got the spoiler and the fog lights I would think think is more expensive than tint and mats. I also got floor mats forgot to mention.

This topic has been discussed many times in every section of the forum.
Pure price means the price you pay is the price the dealer advertises at. There is No negotiation.
