What's your fuel mileage.

Thats normal, right on par with Scion's rating. I do not see how people get 31+ mpg. I do not have the patience to drive Miss Daisy. Mine is lowered with a front splitter, manual tranny, K&N filter and the intake snorkel removed for a bit more airflow.
I get 28 mpg running 80mph with A/C on, windows up. Based on a 560 mile trip I just took in 90F weather with tons of humidity. I love the Southeast, Satan wont even come here.
I average 24mpg normal all around driving with A/C on. 25mpg in winter without A/C.

Standard tranny here (don't like sluggish responsiveness of auto)
I average 28.8 per tank. That's 60% highway, and 40% city.
I'll get under 25mpg if I drive mainly city, and driving hard. On freeways, I get 33MPG driving 70 MPH in 6th gear. On highways, I usually get around 36mpg at around 55 MPH. This is according to the car's built in MPG gauge. Aftermarket gauges like ScanGauge or UltraGauge use their own internal math to calculate a MPG number.
If you live in a very flat area, you will get better MPGs, but if you live where I live (lots of hills/sloaps/turns/bends) you will get worse.
Those of you getting 36MPG have to be doing no more than 55MPH on mainly flat land.

I don't how you people get 30+ mpg... I just don't believe it..
You must drive 60mph, no traffic, not idling at lights..
I get 21 mpg and I drive somewhat enthusiastically...
however.....
Me and friend of mine made an experiment.
He drivers an E-320 Bluetech with a 7-speed trans.
The bet was that he was going to drive as eco-friendly as possible
and I would have to follow him. So I reset the avg mpg meter and we took off.
This was a little after midnight, no traffic, whenever there was a red light
I'd shift into neutral and let it roll, which really helped the mpg.
Finally, for about 5 and a half miles he got 37.5mpg.
I got 39 mpg

Hi guys, im new here and would like to post my mpg.
I got a 2011 scion tc slate, 6 speed manual. I have 9494 miles on it since i got it in june of 2011. I get 27.4 mpg in city.
I manage this by driving slow, and shifting gears between 1000 to 1500 rpm.
i been stuck for a month now at 27 mpg, and wondering if i could go higher.
A friend mentioned that i should shift gears at a higher RPM of 2500 to get better mpg. i dont think this is true.
whats the best rpm to shift gears and get great mpg?
I also noticed that the maintence light blinks eight times when i start the engine. it goes off when i drive, is this normal?

You'll get your best MPG by keeping your RPM below 2k when you are cruising.
As far as when is the best time to change gears, it depends on the driving situation. Always shifting early doesn't necessarily give you better mileage. Putting a car in a higher gear prematurely will cause it to struggle and use more fuel. Choose the gear that allows you to pick up speed with the least amount of effort (how far you have to mash the gas pedal).
However, 27 is actually decent mileage in the city. Remember this car is only supposed to get 31 to 32 on the highway so you aren't doing bad.
The maintenance light is just telling you that your 10k mile service is approaching. It flashes every 5k miles and always begins giving you the reminder around 500 miles before service is due.

Does anyone on here use fuelly.com to help track their mpg? The numbers never match with what is on the car's computer. My overall best since getting the car back in July was 31.6 mpg. My worst tank was 24.3 mpg. Running average is 27.2 mpg.

48mph....slowpoke! J/K. I am 2-3 hours away from ATL right on the Ga/Sc border. I am surprised you can get that good of mpg around ATL. Best I have done is 28 mpg running 85mph pretty much the whole way from Fl. to Sc.
For those getting bad fuel economy, try different brands and octane levels. Try to drive consistently to track the difference, keep in mind tire pressure, elevation, humidity and air temps affect mpg greatly. I found a couple mpg difference between brands. Mine also seems to give the best performance AND mpg with 89 octane. Averaging 25mpg city and highway driving with 20 minutes of idle time every morning before driving. I drive aggressive, but not stupid. I shift mostly at 2800 rpms, hardly ever above 5k.
I thought my lighter weight wheels would give a big improvement in fuel economy, not the case. Maybe 1 mpg difference. Might be because my tires are 1% smaller with a much higher rolling resistance vs. stock tires. My theory anyways.

My last post my 2011 scion tc 6 speed manual was getting 27.4 mpg. Now im at 27.9.
i downloaded a app in my iphone called mpgforFree, and followed the instructions to see my true MPG. I think the scion tc computer might be off, cause the app mpgforFree says im getting 32.8 mpg from my last fill up.
at highways i keep it at 50 and slight below 2k in the tach.
At local towns streets i drive slow.
