Smile Finally a small update + Wekfest Long Beach 2012!

hey guyss!! so I havent been putting more into my car lately cause my wallets REALLY light.. but i happen to finally got an intake for my car. Thanks to the the help of my friend, Ed, it took us a few hours to install the intake with a few hiccups here and there. I ended up getting the injen CAI because finding a cheap descendant was kinda hard. Ill talk more about my intake later on but here are some pictures of it:

After install:

BUT ANYWAYS: HERES SOMETHING ELSE!

In between my install of the intake, we went to Wekfest at Long Beach. I never thought of seeing this many people and this many nice cars in one day. Parking and admission was pretty expensive but in the end, it was totally worth it because these BIG meets dont happen that often.
I know this is a Scion Community, so I tried to get some pictures of the Scions I've seen there, including the new Fr-s! Heres some pictures!

Also, since there were a LOT of moddified cars there, I thought I might at least post up the link to the pictures my friend and I took. Most of these are his because he's got a better camera than I do. lol. But here are more pictures for those who are interested in cars other than just Scions.

Oo, I see you removed your bumper for the HID install on the foglights. Was it hard to remove the bumper?

yea but that was not from yesterday, I actually installed that a while ago.. But yes i did need to remove my bumper, and it was not hard at all, also there is a DIY on SL. Try finding it. The only thing that was a little hard was going underneath my car to remove those screws.

Just to let you know i didnt have to take off my bumper when i put my intake in, i just unscrewed the bottom panel and the plastic part under the fender en pulled it down just enough room to put the filter in, i held it in place en had my friend screw it tight, it was a _____ but took half the time, i dont really like the sound of the intake becuz it sounds too soft im planning on converting it to short ram to see if get difference in sound

EDIT: forgot to add...I'm NOT using any relays either
Does the 55w also work for the fogs? No relays? I was also questioning myself if I should get them just to be safe but I guess the wires can take the load.

I decided to go 35w in the fogs because I wasn't sure how the stock wiring would handle TWO 55w installations. I wanted to avoid installing a relay so I went that route to be safe. Honestly, I wouldn't bother going 55w for fogs. my 35w 4300k fogs are very bright.

But if you absolutely want 55w then go for it. You may just need to install a relay harness for at least one set to make sure they fire properly.

And don't worry about the housings melting...the stock fogs are already 55w so there won't be any change in heat energy coming from the bulbs.

Well I think it's better to get a relay for 55w because it uses more power. If it was 35w, then I would say it's safe too. But anyhow, if you didn't get a relay yet, I have a set I bought and never installed. It's from ddm. I'll sell it to you for 10 bucks + 1 buck shipping just lmk. And Ive seen some 55w 3k yellow for fogs and they look so nicee

Lol same thing I told the post above this one. You should get it for 55w fog to be safe. And I have a set sitting around that I never installed and I wanna get rid of it!

A short and simple answer would be that it draws power from your battery instead of your electrical wiring(stock harness). Therefore you don't risk destroying your stock wires which could mess up your electrical system.

Lol tbh, the scions were not as bad as some other cars... My friend and I walked by some accords and they look like they were completely stock.. 1 of the accord didn't even have a license plate yet. He didn't just remove it for the meet because the frame was still there with the dealer paper behind it... Some cars were nice, but some looked like they just tinted their window with some wheels at stock height and made it in. I'm not trying to bash on anyone cause my car is almost all stock myself. :/

they let anyone in...as long as they pay the car registration. the more people that enter (that they can fit) the more money they make. and the owners without show ready cars basically lose out because they have no chance of winning any prizes/trophies.

while i'm not disagreeing with u, u have to keep in mind that some people replace their plates at car shows...and some use the dealer plates. its so if/when strangers take pictures of their car, their license plate number doesnt get spread all over the place

Kinda sad...This show has nothing on the San Francisco Bay WEKfest show...

Kinda what happened to SPOCOM SHow too...They use to audition cars and only have "show worthy" cars...Now they let any car Reg'd too.

actually anyone can register to try to get into it but i dont think anyone can get in. Apparently in the parking where my friend parked, there were a LOT of nice show cars that looked ready for show. I assume those people didnt make it in, but i could be wrong. If they registered but didnt make it in and some of those stock looking accords did, then thats pretty messed up.. and as for the plate. I know what you mean. But the car looks completely stock and the car does look really new as well so IMO, it looks like it really did just come out of the dealer. Who knows, maybe they want a "wide variety" of cars. IF they did just remove the plate and left the dealer sign that goes behind the actual plate, the car still does not look like a show car.
