Yellow rust spots

Yellow rust spots
So I washed my white Tc and noticed a whole bunch of a tiny yellow spots all over the lower half of the body. Not easily removed, had to use my fingernail.
Took it to the dealership, apparently its railway shavings that embed into the pain and then rust over time.
Initially they said it would cost $600 plus to water sand, polish or they have even have to repaint.
Eventually, they did something under warranty that fixed it all up. I'm guessing they did none of the above, but instead just clay bared it or buffed it or something.
Just thought I'd let anyone else with a similar problem know.
They still didn't address the tiny bubbles that I see on my clock. No plastic there etc and just noticed it recently when the weather got warmer. The guy at the dealership said he couldn't see it, but its one of those things I def'n see. Unresolved still, maybe I'll go back and ask them again what that's all about.

Its very small iron particles from the metal on metal contact between a train's wheels and the rails. Almost like a dust that settles on your car except they embed slightly into your paint (or wax) and begin to rust. Clay baring your car usually gets rid of it. Put a layer of wax on after to protect your paint.
Do a search on youtube for detailing a white car and most videos will mention this.

I got my car Nov 2010 and have plut 16k km (around 10k miles) since then. The yellow spots don't show up b/c I guess it takes time for the shavings to rust up. So you don't eve know anythings there until it turns yellow. And even then, they're pretty small.
I don't have any railway tracks around my area but I do drive a lot - and it can be pretty wet around where I am.
It looks pretty good now, but it was scary, b/c I thought my paint was rusting until I noticed it on the plastic bumper too.

Ok, calm everyone. So much panic! There is a solution!
The yellow spots are rusted metal shavings from rail cars. This is also known as "fallout".
It can be removed with a mild solvent and/or claybar. Check with your local detail shop, or online detail shop, for products which will aid in removing it. Or tell your dealer to get it off!

Be aware that chemical based fallout removers are acidic and can damage paint if left on too long. Follow the directions of all products carefully.
