Wow! Very impressive! Have you had a chance to test fit?

That is the OEM RUCA...the outboard side (right in the photo) got cut off and a sleeve welded on. Why would it not fit?

I'm interested! I need some camber. Are you selling them yet? Or is this just the prototype. Forgive me if you have already answered this question I just got off of work and just skimmed the thread.

Those are the very first two adjustable RUCAs. So yes, they are the prototypes. I bought a second set of RUCAs from TRDSparks and proceeded to mod them. I machined out pockets on both sides to reduce the weight (cross section is now an I-Beam), cut off one end and welded on the sleeve for the adjustment ball joint. The next step is to get them zinc plated and then powder coated. Next, assemble them and then install them. My guess is that I should be able to get -5 degrees camber, but I won't know for sure until I get them on and record the camber.

but if these come out, I won't have anything to cry about on the forums.....on the other hand it will free up the SPC, Eibach, and Hotchkiss employee that I call every other day. Assuming you would sell them--you will sell them right?

When I went to the machine shops, I asked them to make me 10 of each part. I'will use two of them on my car. That means that I could make 4 more sets with this batch. Once I install these on my car, I'll have an other set of RUCAs to mod. I could send those out to someone interested in these (take a deposite of his RUCAs) and then mod their set once I get them back. Since I decided to mod the OEM RUCAs, I'll have to do them one-by-one...not really a production line...custom work you know.

Like you, I just got tired of waiting.

well once the specs and materials are identified and the first set done, the machine shop should be able to pump out as many as you want. Just wondering why you would have to mod factory RUCAs once you have all the info you need.....I was looking into this a while back and talked to an automotive machine shop, and the way it was planned was.....
1) Order additional factory RUCA to identify materials and baseline measurements
2)order an Eibach Adustable RUCA for previous gen. so he could get an idea of what we were after.
3) identify any adjustments in design needed to fit 2nd gen
4) Then pump out as many as I wanted from scratch

Top notch work as usual 2t. I knew it would not be hard to do, all the extra steps you went thru put it over the top. I am sooo sick of looking at my passenger tire with so much neg. camber.
1-2 degrees neg. camber should be ideal for the rear on a daily driver right? I know suspension settings from my 1/8th scale offroad r/c racing days. Making a FWD street car handle is a bit foreign to me, that is why I ask.

Keeping an eye on this. Not lowered yet but would pick these up without hesitation.

I will be setting mine to -0.4 degrees...that is the minimum, yet still within Toyota/Scion specifications. Not having tracked this car yet, I cannot tell you how much more would be better for cornering.

Good that you are back Ingeniero!
I like to have first dibs on the set that you will have avail after you install the first set in your car.
Please let me know if it's doable.
Thank you.

2tCornot2tC,

How much were the extra set of RUCA's from TRDSparks?

Would it make sense if a few of us bought extra RUCA's and then have you mode those and then donate/offer/something (just an idea, don't freak out people) to the cause?

This could potentially solve the special order issue...
It's cheaper to manufacture in batches instead of one by one. So how do we help make it possible?

Just an idea, I don't know if it will work, but regardless I want a set.

Great work BTW
