Out of curiosity, what's ratio of steel insert vs zinc did you order? I'm curious as to how many of each you purchased because I don't quite have a full grasp on what the market is. Or is the steel insert something that will be added after the zinc parts are made?

I don’t understand what you are asking…

All of the A-RUCAS are made from heat treated steel…then zinc plated for corrosion protection. After zinc plating and assembly, they will be powder coated for aesthetics and better corrosion protection. Once I have the main body of the A-RUCA manufactured, I will order ball joints according to need/orders…the ball joint is the last thing that gets assembled to the A-RUCAS and determines whether the car will be used as a DD/low&slow or extended life/track use.

Ohhhh ok I guess I didn't fully understand the process, the ball joint is the component that is different between the 2 choices. For some reason I thought the construction of the 2 versions were different. And you also answered my question, the ball joints will be ordered according to orders, that was where I was curious

I was just at the machine shop yesterday...they are working on them. Production has not started yet...we are still working out the manufacturing details. This all takes time…we still need to work out the heat treatment logistics…

The hurdle that we are working through right now is that I’ve designed these to be light, therefore I’ve specked out an aircraft grade chromoly steel. They have no problem sourcing or welding the chromoly steel, but the local heat treatment facility can on bring it up their ovens to stress relieving temperatures and not to heat treating temperatures. We’ll get there…

Just an update...I've just finished my 3rd re-design and came up with something I like and the machine shop likes...I was promised a bid on Monday.

Bad news guys…each arm will cost $1,000. That is $2,000.00 per car! I’m not going to make 100 of them because I don’t have that kind of money and I don’t think I could sell that many of them at that price. If anybody is still interested, let me know. I will make myself a set anyway...
