Default Post Lowering Spring Alignment

Question for you Scion employees out there. I installed my H-Tech springs last night, and went to get an alignment done today. After discovering most places can't do the '11 tC yet, I found one that could (besides my dealer with the "next week" answer).

So my question is really 3 things:
- What's the standard alignment range (caster, camber, toe) for the tC?
- What should it be with lowered springs? I'm guessing there should be at least some change to the caster.
- What were your post-install alignment numbers?

I don't have the form in front of me, but the camber and toe worked out fine, it's the caster that seemed off. Shop ended up putting the caster at 5.7 and 6.6 degrees to get the rest to line up.

Thanks

They can't adjust the camber or the castor on the car, if they said they "adjusted it" they lied. To adjust castor you'd need to physically relocate the mount position of the strut. Not happening without new top mounts for example. And camber cannot be adjusted in factory form.

Toe is the only adjustment they can actually make, but the other 2 (castor and camber) are products of toe, so by adjusting toe, you will make minor changes to castor and camber.

With a lowered car, you likely have a little more positive castor (good), a little more negative camber (good) and toe-in. The toe will make it twitchy and change steering characteristics, so best to have it adjusted back to factory specs.

There are alignment figures out right now, but for the life of me I can't remember them.

PM me tomorrow and I'll see what I can dig up for you.

^^^ Thanks. And, it makes more sense if they can't adjust caster or camber. Shop didn't say they adjusted either, just gave me the before and after numbers.

dont bother getting an alignment the day after you install springs, they wont have settled yet at all and all your numbers will change in a week

A week or a day, the amount of settling will be negligible.
