Since I got started on tire selection/design, I need to mention 3 more parameters that need to be looked at when choosing your tires. They need to meet the minimum weight rating, speed rating and rolling diameter. Since all the discussions here are for wider tire, you will probably meet the minimum weight rating. Since you are looking at low profile tires (<50%), you will very likely meet the speed rating also. But work real hard in maintaining the OEM rolling diameter. Michelin gives you the revolutions per mile, other manufacturers call it rolling diameter and some even call it rolling radius.

I just saw P Tuning's TC2 and they have a whopping 265/35-18's on there and with a +45 offset. Our cars are capable of having a 10 inch wide rear wheel! Staggered sets anyone??
