Default Scion Emblem

Last Sunday after coming home from church my dad noticed that the scion emblem on the center of my driver's side rear wheel had popped off. You could tell that the plastic had cracked and it broke off. I called the dealership and they ordered a replacement and I finally got around to getting it yesterday. Then, this morning my dad noticed that the same thing had happened on the passenger's side front wheel. I guess it's back to the dealership for me tomorrow. :/ Has anyone else had this happen or knows why this is happening?

on my driverside rear wheel the center cap (which is what ur talking about) looked like it was pushed it (after looking at my photos i took when i bought the car it was there from the dealer on the front wheel...i had my tires rotated already)

anyways i just removed the wheel and from behind the wheel, i poped off the cap and put it back in

i guess its one of the draw backs of having a plastic-lego-like car

did they give u the centercap for free? or u had to pay for it?

Dad had the same thing happen on his Accord EX-L. Most cars are built about the same these days.

The wheels on my BMW were $800+ (SSR GT-03s) a piece and came with basically the same cheap plastic caps.

If it happens again, I'd pull the rim and check for stress fractures on the hub area. They can be hard to see, have a good flashlight handy.

They think it might have been a bad batch of plastic because the broken clips felt very brittle. They replaced all four of the center caps and gave me an extra one in case it should happen again so I'm satisfied.
