So I found the part number for the RS1 Grille, or as it's known for the Japanese Ist, the Sports Grille. I ordered it up from the dealer for a very reasonable sum, and it showed up today...
Except it is the stock grille, in "absolutely red".
WTF? This isn't something available - there's never been an xA with the stock grille!?!
So... anybody want to trade for an RS1 grille?

And to iterate - if anyone wants a brand-new Stock-style grille in "Absolutely Red", I'm more than willing to trade for a used sports grille - it's going to get painted anyway.

 

I did the same thing my self. Heres the reason they even make it. When the rs1 xa would come in at the docks, it would of course come in red but it would come in with the stock grill in red. They wouldnt install the grill until it got to the docks.

 

Okay - I get that it might exist. But the description says 'Special Edition' and 'Sports Grille', not just a color code like the other grille parts...

 

Is there anywhere one could order the sports grille for a reasonable price?

If the grille you want is the RS 1.0, and the price Toyota tells you is $100 something dollars, then its the OEM painted in the specail red color.

The actual grille RS 1.0 is over $500 from Toyota. I've tried to let peeps know in advance before.

I was lucky enuff to find an iSt grill for half the price of the Sports Grille.

 

That same thing happened to me. aparently over in japan there is a rs1 series grill that matches up with the stock grill on the 04. That's the one I got at the dealer, and I was like wtf????? They ordered the correct one with the airdam included and discounted it something like 30%. The sports grill has that air dam cause it goes with the IST TRD turbo kit . I wish I could get my hands on one of those-
