I got the Silverstar Ultra lights. They are really nice N bright. Almost HID looking.

Silverstar 9003 are actually H4, I know I have had three sets of them in my xB over the last 2 1/2 years. Personally, silver stars are nice minus the fact that, if you drive down really bumpy roads and such they will burn out faster on you. PIAA's supposedly are great bulbs but are too expensive to be worth the money. I'm using GE Nighthawks right now, I like the silverstar color tempurature better but I get the Nighthawks for a good price.

I'd suggest just biting the bullet and hooking up some HID's. Like I said before Silverstars are nice but I ended up carrying around an extra set of bulbs with me at all times. The PIAA's I can only tell you about what I have heard about them. I can't justify spending so much money on a bulb that I hear burns out quickly. BTW GE Nighthawks have a suffix, NH or NHS. NHS are supposed to be the blue colored light if you wanted to know.

Good point, I think there are some companies that make glare shields or sell them with there kits. Maybe one of the sponsors here might be able to help you out. Also, there is the option to retrofit say a set of BMW HID's to the xA, be a nice mod as well as something unique!

I have the original silverstars on my xA and they have never burnt out. Ive had my car for 2 yrs. and the bulbs for about 1 yr. and 9 months and ive never had to replace them. Someone said something about bumpy roads and the bulb burning out, thats crap. I live in PR and the roads are HORRIBLE and i hit bumps about once every 10min. and still no light bulb burn out. I have the silverstars both for my headlights and fog lights, they work great look even better and wouldnt change them for the world.

The only thing i would change them for is HID's, but if no one sells me a decent reflector for HID's im not going to switch. I dont like having HID;s without the correct light pattern.

I said about the thing about the bumpy roads. I'm sorry I work around the Washington DC area . . . it's one big pothole here. lol I dunno, maybe during shipping the bulbs got rattled around. Anyway, I've had three sets bought from three different places. I finally got tired and bought GE nighthawks. Light is about the same but the color is different.

I've personally tested PIAA Super Xtremes vs. Syvannia Superstars. I put 1x bulb in each headlight to compare.

The PIAAs are brigher and more beautiful in color and purity.
As others've mentioned, PIAAs burn out quicker, so i've now switched to the cheaper silverstars.

If you are willing to pay the $$$, PIAAs produce a superior light!

I don't know if anyone has posted this yet, but Sylvania does
make Silverstar Ultras in the 9003 size now. I saw them just
the other day on a visit to Autozone.

I bought a set of the ultras for my xa a few weeks ago. I got them from autozone but they also have them at target. I paid 40 bucks for them on sale from 50 and it is a nice little upgrade.

I had PIAA for both headlights and fogs. They were great. They lasted two years on my car before one of each blew...around the same time. They were secondhand bulbs, too! I think the owner before me had them on their car for a year... Not too shabby, huh?

I think I'm going to get a whole new set. I definitely miss the fogs...

Ive had both, the PIAA do an awesome light! I got a stash of lights months ago and it had one PIAA 9005 to fit my truck. The stock one is so dam yellow, I hate it, the PIAA it slightly blue and is way cleaner at night. The funny part is that I have some cheapy LiteGlow ones for high beams and fogs, I cant tell the difference!
I had the Silverstars on my old truck and never had a problem with them.
