Default To air or not to air, that is the question.

I met an xb owner who had an air suspension setup. Not only can he control the height of his car, drop it when parked. He claims it was a way better ride. He said it was easy to do and anyone can do it.

I am half way tempted to do this vs the lowering springs, sway bars, etc, however one thing he said shocked me. He has a big speaker box in the back and said since he added the box, he has to keep it air up as to not bottom out and that gives him a harsh ride. Sure I do not have a box in my car, but I load it up with 300 bucks worth or heavy stuff from sams club, but the weight does not seem to bother the car, just lower the rear an inch.

Anyone else got air suspension? Whats your opinion vs springs? Do you need sway bars as well?

Thanks

this is interesting to me... doesn't make sense at all

air ride is a bouncer ride. When there is a rut in the road your car fallows it and you have to really stear to get out of it. With my air ride set up i can make the car bounce and dance around.. and sit on the ground, thats whats good about air ride. either way you have to atleast be up alittle to drive around for it to be as smooth as possible. Easy to do... umm its better to know what your doing in my opinion so you get everything set right and put in properly. You will always have things here and there needed to be tweeked as you go... I have had air ride for about 2 years now and every 3 weeks i gotta tigheten everything and make sure there is no air leaks..... sorry im just ranting along. In my opinion vs. spring is that if you wanna get low i mean sit on the ground low... go with air ride cause thats what is made for and to hop along dancen. if you just wanna be lower go with springs... its cheaper and it keeps you from agrivation that you will have when you have a leak in your lines. sway bars limit your ability to drop in the front. you will need one though because it helps you have a nice turning controll with out one .... your gonna have sloppy turns. In my opinion its a kick ___ mod... and its fun... but if you dont do it right you can even go through about 6 set of tires in one year like another kid did because he didn't do it right. so i don't understand who you talked to but good luck on your choice and if you have any other questions pm me

Nothing like a dropped s10. I hope I can wait, but been looking for an older toy truck from the 80s when toy use to make small trucks.

Default That's crazy

Isn't it better to just get a suspension kit and drop it to a fixed height? What about debris in the road?
