Bah.. 14k, Check Engine Light
Well started the car this evening after driving it a bit earlier, the check engine light stayed lit. Car running normal, no rough idling, etc. Did a few dirty roads so it could *hopefully* just be the air filter needs to be replaced.
I mis-placed my manual but any clue to what this may possibly be before I drag her down to the dealership? *please be something minor and simple*

Hey i just posted the same kind of thing thing. I have 560 miles and I already brought mine in 2 days ago..they said it was water getting into some canister. It does no harm but triggers the sensor. They also said that its been happening with scions, so who knows. BUT here I am the next day and the light is back on... so im bringing it down to the dealer again.
(check to make sure your fuel cap is on tight, i heard that can make the check engine light go on too--> wouldnt that be nice if that was the case!)

Hey- I just talked to the dealership again and they said that it IS a canister of some sort that has something to do with emissions and its not hurting the car at all. So apparently they ordered a newer version (of this canister) that corrects the water problem. So we'll see. In the meantime its not saying much to the people that get in my new car and see the check engine light at 500 miles! Little embarrassing too. hah o well

I'm at Toyota of Seattle (Downtown Seattle) getting it checked out right now. w00t for free coffee and internet access! Comfy chairs too
I told him about your problem and said in the remarks of "running your tank low can cause water vapors to appear in your tank which will eventually go to the canister and setting a code. Keeping your tank full prevents this from happen *1-2 lines about "R" will keep the car happy.
I only managed to do that once and one week later, half tank or so, it set the code.
I'll post before I leave on what the results were.

So the check engine light was set off from something quite simple. During start up it couldn't complete a self check of the system and set a code. Computer was reset and is going to do the self check sometime tonight "yes, it does it while the car is off"
However if the light comes back on in the morning then there is something more to it.
Thanks to Toyota of Downtown and Al for getting me taken care of ..very cool guys
