Default Bet this has NEVER happened to anyone...

So i had the car in last Thursday because i had the problem with the charcoal canister again. They had a toyota tech come in and study the car all day and actually discovered exactly what was causing the problem and ordered some updated parts that toyota manufactured for the xA to render the problem. Anyway, I needed the car Friday, so I picked it up Thursday evening and told them I'd bring it back Monday morning for the day. Apparently there was some miscommunication when it came to having the car ready for me to take home for the weekend because I picked it up Friday, and today (Sunday) i went to put some gas in it, and this is what I found.......

Whens the last time that happened to YOU at the pump, haha. Good thing I didn't put the nozzel in without looking first! I'm hoping the car has been safe to drive this whole weekend, plus I gotta drive it a few miles to the dealer in a little bit to leave it overnight for tomorrow.

But for anyone else who has had the charcoal canister problem, updated parts ARE apparently available so that it doesn't occur anymore. Just wanted to let people know-

With the tank open to the air like that, you should throw a CEL in short order...

Appears they removed the filler neck and associated fittings.

They shouldn't have let that car out of the shop in that condition.

Ha! I know that it's really good on gas, but not THAT good!
Scion salesman: "Hmmmm.....What if we make the gas tank an option!! Yeah! We can charge an extra $400!! Anybody that doesn't want to go the extra expense can just attach an Dixie cup to the fuel line and that would be enough to get them around town."

Well I called them today and they go "Yea.....They probably should have told you about that" Either way I picked up the car today and they apologized, and first thing I did when I went around back was pop the fuel door and check- all good now.

Don't really need a gas tank anyway, car practically runs on magic. I could probably wiggle my nose and get to Florida in it.

That would be a shock - thieves usually siphon the gas, not take the entire tank. Did the dealership fill 'er up for your troubles?
