Default Blackout power from an XA?

Any of you guys thinking about or has someone hooked an inverter to their scion to give them some power to maybe run a fridge, tv or toaster oven during a power failure?

Default I have a portable inverter

I use it to run a computer when I'm Wijacking and I've used it to charge my computer and my cell phone when driving, but not to run anything really big.

I guess it would work though.

Trouble is, it won't run if the car is off. You'd have to rewire some stuff for that.

Either you get clean low output (~150 watts) or you get high output (~400 watts) from an inverteo. I'd NEVER run electronics on a high-output invertor because the output is very rough... flip side is you can't run many appliances on that little voltage.

I'd recomment getting 12V stuff instead... you can get a small (6-pack) fridge almost anywhere now for ~$50. If you want more options, check out an RV store/catalog.
