Default End of the road... xA totaled.

Been meaning to post this for a while but in April my daughter ended up totaling her xA. She was fine but unfortunatley the xA wasn't and with over 130k miles the insurance company said it wasn't worth fixing.

We only had the car less than 2 years but I'll have to say it was reliable and cheap transportation with no extra maintenance. It will be missed...

So sad to hear this. Glad, of course, that your daughter is fine. But these cars are easier to get attached to than one might think, eh!

One of my biggest fears is getting into even a minor fender bender and having my car "totaled." I've 135,000 miles on mine so it is a foregone conclusion that anything beyond a scratch will "total" it. But darn it, my car is in fantastic shape - perfect compression in all cylinders and no oil consumption. Even if I get "fair market value" and try to replace it, how can I be sure I really get a car in this great shape - as lovingly cared for by a previous owner as much as this one was cared for by me? It's a crap shoot and the odds are not in my favor.

Have you purchased a replacement for her? I hope you have great luck with whatever you do/did get. And I hope she has as much fun as the xA gave her.

I'm glad your daughter is okay. It is sad to see another xA go like that...there aren't many more left...

Wow, sad to hear you misfortune, glad your all okay. Have had my xA since 2004, and now its paid off, I really do contemplate dropping full coverage, about 116K miles. If totaled and what value do I get for all the extra coverage??? Hope the resale value stays close to where it has been for the first 6 years, and no mech problems at all, woot!!

itscurtsk, I drive a scion and have had several daughters, but then 30 years ago I married one and created two new daughters, one drives an xB.Every girl that comments actually does say it's "cute". The xA mods out well and can look lots more agressive with wheel/suspension mods.
