Got my new Xa in. New price on the factory indash changer
My new Xa came in off the truck on Saturday the 4th. I ordered it stock w/ no options and then I was adding the floormats and mudguards at the dealer. Well the dealership ordered the car with the factory indash cd changer and then they were going to swap it with a single disc when it came in. I did not want the 6 disc changer because I thought the price ($395) was way too high so I talked myself out of it. Here's the interesting part When the finance guys were getting the paperwork ready my wife and I went for a test drive...She was looking through the glovebox and found the factory sticker price sheet folded up in there...On there the price for the 6 disc cd changer was only $205!!! So I showed the salesman this and he was stumped....aparently Gulf States Toyota, the distributer in this area has lowered the price on the cd player upgrade and they have not updated the scion.com website. So I got the 6 disc changer for only $205 when I had originally not wanted it because of the price, so it worked out well.

that extra $190 dollars you saved is the dealers profit u messed the sales guy deal up theres no way that 6 disc is for $205 you can't even get a single disc aftermarket cd radio that's of name brand for that price, upon them doing pdi(predilivery inspection) at the distrubution center someone forgot to take that paper work out i bet, no one else won't be as lucky to get it for that price...

I wanted XM in my car, but at $449, the price was a little steep. I considered putting in an aftermarket deck, but with a little research and creativity, I ended up with the factory part for a high (though less extortionate) price.
With a lot of effort, I managed to obtain the factory XM receiver for $260. Normally it's only sold installed for $449, but in Washington state it's illegal to only sell auto parts as a dealer-installed option. Faced with the threat of a complaint to the attorney general's office, the dealer subtracted the labor price. This dropped the cost to a more reasonable (though still expensive) level.
Best of all, I didn't even have to perform the installation! I am friends with a felon (http://www.thefelon.org) who knows a lot about stealing... uh, I mean INSTALLING car stereos. And he owed me a favor. Evidently it's a really nasty, painful installation--you have to take out the front and rear seats, and disassemble the dash. My XM works beautifully, and I'm glad I didn't have to do the work!
