Default Hi Scion xA owners!

My name is Grant and I'm currently a Maxima owner. I really want to sell my Maxima but I think I can only get about $10,000 out of it.

What do xA's run for average and which year is the best?

I guess more or less I'm into the VIP/LUX look now.

Any input is very much appreciated!

Thanks,
Grant

(sorry for being a newbie)

welcome, and nice max.

Best year is the 05 rs1!!!!

lol, jk. It is the only one you can get in red with a roof, but just about all of them are cool.

...oh and theres more body kits for the 04-05 than the 06's

best of luck to ya!

I like the 06 the best, that's y I own one. It has a more aggressive styling out of the box plus I got steeringwheel controls for the stereo. The stock stereo on the 06 plays WMA files while previous ones only play MP3. Any release series xa is another good buy also.

As for price u either have to find a leftover on a dealer lot which start at $13,360, used ones on a toyota lot go for $15,000 with about 32,000 miles on them for a car thats only one year old, privately they can go from $10,000+, or if ur like me and just get really lucky u can get a killer deal( 06 5sp with 3800miles for only $11,000 on a BMW lot). Try cars.com as that's how I found mine.

Best of luck and hope u become an owner real soon, and be sure to check out www.xateam.com

Default Release Series 1.0 is the best !!!

You forgot to mention that the RS1 is the only chance of traction control and VSC. AND came stock with Enkie wheels. It's just the best xA you can get ... but I am biased

i have an 06, and honestly. by the looks of your cars i'm assuming you would mod your xA. i would go with the 04-05 xA because there are more mods available for it. and you can get more aftermarket engine components that are carb legal for it.

that and the 06 models seem to have a flimsier dash as well as some issues with the charcoal canisters. +1 for the 04-05 models!

Prices will vary depending where you look. Some lots will offer great deals on them, and some are keeping the prices higher now that they're "collectible". You might also want to look into the xD which is the successor to the xA coming out at the end of the year. Some like the styling, some think it looks like crud.

Either way, if you want a NEW xA, you better find one before they're all gone.

A nice way to research them is to look at the picture thread and click peoples profiles on here. You'll see MANY various types of xA, and will give you a good idea what you might be looking for and what to do.

Thanks for the input guys!

I guess what I'm after is an 04 white 5-speed.

So what's the deal with this RS1 model?

What options are availible on some as opposed to others (e.g. sunroof etc)

I want to make absolute sure before I make the sale.

The RS1 was the bright red one, the only way to ever get a factory sun roof and traction control. They are very hard to find now.
The RS2 was a deep blue, not real sure of the exclusives on it,
The RS3 was a light metalic blue with a Kenstyle kit.

Any other options are available on any other xA, my 05 Phantom Grey came with RS1 Enkei's on it....so it is pretty much you put what you want on it... no packages where a bunch of useless crap is bundled with the 1 option you want.

if u def want to go vip, then 04 or 05 as stated above. lots more options to go for with mod kits. go to scion.com for factory options, but again goin vip will not have what ur lookin for. when lookin, search for Toyota IST mods since that is what its called overseas. Good Luck with ur search and if u ever have any more questions u have thousands here to help.

Since we're all picture ******:

This is stock except the TRD lowering springs I put in. You can also get these from the dealer for a bit more change than what it would cost to buy elsewhere and to do yourself. Same with the red/black leather steering wheel.

As others said, The RS1 was the only "absolute" red Scion offered for the xA in 2005. 1550 were made, and they came standard with a sliding and tilting moon roof. They also were the only xA made with VSC / Traction Control (Which also can be disabled with the push of the button.). The 17" Enkei Boat wheels were also standard.

Moon roofs and sunroofs can probably be added at the dealer or elsewhere depending as aftermarket and the prices I've seen are usually 1200 and up.

Also, the guy above mentioned these cars are known as IST in Japan. Just be aware that the body kits are not always a perfect match, even if the seller says they are. A few people here found out the hard way, so research it out a bit before you plop down some cash.
