Post your dealer wait time for your new xA and any other vital info.

I'm still waiting for mine... one month down and they tell me another month to go.

I ordered my 2006 IIP 5speed w/o side airbags in the first week of September. It arrived about 2.5 weeks later, but due to paperwork delays I was not able to take it until nearly 6 days later. Probably a total of about 3-3.5 weeks. That's probably why you're having to wait, neotim, I got your car instead ;)

But look at the positives: every additional week you don't have the car is a week less of paint chips. I've had mine barely 2 weeks and already have multiple chips through to the metal on the hood.

I don't know about that... I think a paint-chipped xA is still better than the '89 Olds Delta 88 loaner that I've been drivin'.

I spoke to the dealer today. It's the largest in Tulsa, and they only get 3 xA's and 5 xB's for every allocation (twice a month).

I waited three days. Of course, they didn't have to finance me and I told them if you don't get me a car by Friday, you're not selling me a car. They had four xAs on the lot, but none in IIP. That's what I waited for. My dealership was Courtesy Scion / Toyota in Tampa, FL.

I waited 2 weeks for my Flint Mica 2006 automatic w/out side airbags. That two weeks seemed like forever, patience is definately not my thing. I'd freak if I had to wait two months. Now I am trying to figure out (by reading the forums) which lowering springs would be best for me. decisions... decisions.

Took me a little less than two weeks total. When I first went to the dealer, he had a car with side airbags (what I wanted) coming in, but it wasn't at a stage where he had the full VIN yet, so he wouldn't sell it to me. He had the full VIN almost a week later, and I had the car less than a week after that.

mine was on the lot...i went in and had my choice of 3 IIP xA's...one auto, one auto with side airbags, and one manual ( the one i bought ), when i got mine in december the dealer had a total of 4 xA's and 3 xB's and a tC...so i guess i got lucky, because IIP was the color i wanted...now 30k miles later i have no regrets.

Same as xAwahl. Called the dealer. He had it on the lot. I told him I would be there within 2 hours because it was about 100 miles. Went down, drove the car, (I had never seen and xA before), wrote a check and drovethe xA home.

What is the IIP I hear being referred to? Is it a special model of the xA? (obvious newbie question but it can't be helped, sorry.

Also, when you order your xA and have to wait....does the dealer give you a loaner car?

IIP refers to the color - Indigo Ink Pearl. Silver would be SSM for Silver Streak Metallic...

Whenever you order, you just put a small deposit on the car (in my case $200). Your only options on the Scions, besides accessories, are: 5speed or auto, color, and side airbags or none. When you order, you just tell them your preferences and the dealer will try to get that car. When your car arrives at the dealer, then you go pay for it and pick it up... so no loaner car.

It's too bad too... because I already sold my previous car, so I'm stuck driving a loaner '89 Oldmobile from my parents until my xA comes in.

Indigo Ink Pearl? Don't I feel like a retard...I was thinking it was a specific type of engine or something technical. Mental note: never post replies when very tired.

Next question...or rather a questioning statement....

You ask for color and trans and airbags or not...but do you tell them what accessories you want then or when it arrives?

I ordered the accessories when I ordered the car. They just add them to the cost of the car and you can get your loan to pay for it all.

Also, in my area, most of the accessories will be installed at the port (Houston, TX). Only my tint will be applied at the dealer. The port will install cruise control, bumper protector, and everything else.

Ok, Lets see. I had to make three seperate trips to the dealer just to get a sales person to talk to me, so there was about a week wasted. Then it took about another week for them to get back to me and let me know that they could in fact get me an IIP 5 speed. Three weeks later they got the car in, but it took them another week to sorta prep the car (I picked it up without the keyless entery or the Yakama rack because I was really sick and tired of waiting). So it took 5 weeks just to get my hands on the car but it didn't have all the options in it. Another week went by and the dealer told m ethat they had the roof rack and I could come pick it up (their idea of instlation of the roof rack was tossing it in the back seat in the sealed box it came in). About a week after that they FINALLY came through with the Scion Security and got it installed in about a day.

All total it took me seven weeks to get my car with everything I asked for.

Default Still waiting..

I am still waiting for my XA…I ordered it Sept. 16. When I ordered the car, the dealer informed me that it could take up to 6 to 8 weeks to receive. I ordered a 2006 Flint Mica XA with a car alarm and rims. 6 to 8 weeks is a longtime to wait. By the time I get the car, I would already paid for half the car. Another thing to note…the dealer told me that all scions dealers are in the same boat in regards to the wait time. I ordered my car from Lombard Scion in IL…..
