How long did you wait!

The longest wait!
I ordered a Scion XA on August 15, 2005 and I'm still waiting. The dealer originally said 3 to 8 weeks and can't tell me when it will come. There was a msg on my answering machine to call him when I came home this evening, so maybe he'll be telling me it's in. I ordered an automatic 06 SSM with side curtain airbags. I hope it's worth the wait.

I finally got a call from Jim Norton in Tulsa... they said my car should be in around Nov. 6th. That would make my wait about 7 weeks.

I walked into Conicelli on Saturday, 9/24/2005 at about 3:00. There was the Polar White xA I wanted. It took about 2 hours for the paperwork to be completed and the service guys had left for the day. I picked-up my baby on Wednesday, 9/28/05.

ordered mine in AUGUST, Black 5 speed, STILL WAITING..........
however, i just went to the dealer and cornered them the other day because they said its finally coming in and just didnt know when, so the sales guy im working with wasnt there, but the one who actually orders the cars was, and he knew me by name without me even saying it cause they've been working with me for so long, but in his words it was "an act of congress", some special allocation or something, and he thought 3 weeks tops......
the suspense is killing me

The longest wait!
I ordered my Auto 06 XA SSM with airbags on 08/15/05, it finally came in 11/22/05 (3 months & 1 week later). Then they said the delivery charge went up $50 in the mean time and insisted on charging me this although they gave me 2 $25 restaurant coupons to make up for it (I have to spend an extra $25 or more at each restaurant to be able to actually use the coupon). I got 30 mpg on my first tank in mixed driving and 34 mpg on my second tank in mostly highway driving.

I originally went to the Toyota/Scion dealer in town.
They didn't have any xAs on the lot (IIP or otherwise), so they took my order.
A couple days passed and I received a call letting me know it could take a couple months. I declined the offer to wait and canceled my order.
Keep in mind; I was impatient because I had spent over two months shopping for a car before I decided to order the xA. I had already "waited" to pick the right one, so I wasn't thrilled to have to wait again.
I did a little searching on the Internet, made a few phone calls, and found the automatic IIP xA that I wanted on the lot at Bob Bridge of Renton (50 miles from home).
I picked it up on Sunday, October 16th from the dealer and drove it home alone (with my mom following me in her Prizm).
I brought it back the next Wednesday to have my accessories installed, drove a 2001 Toyota Corolla loaner home, and picked my car up the next day.

So does this mean that I hold the record for the longest wait?

Looks like I'm going to break that record. It'll be 10 weeks next Saturday, which was the length the dealer said would be the max wait. Spoke w/ her today and she now says there is no telling how long I may wait, IF EVER, to get the car due to the side air bag option and color I want. Apparently, pre-ordering is not really ordering w. Scion- it's just a request against their already predetermined output, which can be 1 car per month for the WHOLE COUNTRY in certain combinations. Thats crazy. What a dissappointment tho, I'm not sure what I'm gonna do now....
