I'm going to try a full treatment of Dynamat Extreme and Extremeliner to qull some of the road noise. As for the rattles from the plastic pieces, there isn't really much one can do, except identify them and try to snug up the pieces a bit more.

You never rode in my Geo Tracker. That allowed more road noise than any other car I've owned. My old VW beetle was close to the Tracker for road noise.

There must be something seriously wrong with your xA. I don't have any noise problems at all—and I certainly don't know what the hell you'll talking about with the guage cluster noises. You need to get your car checked, because this sounds like a problem.

engine noise is always a problem with small displacement engines. it takes alot more for them to make power and on top of that having an exhaust manifold on the oppisite side of the fire doesn't help very much either.

I have rattles, but I just floor it and the supercharger whine covers it up.

The only noise I get out of my egg, is the exhaust. This car is built a lot better than my Focus was and it was a decent car.

well, I don't mean to make my car sound like the NOISY POS, my main gripes are the guage cluster rattle, and the sound of a loose...silver...strap...thing during certain bass notes. It's not THAT bad but I'm like one of those **** people that hear EVERYTHING. I swear if we went out to eat and you scratched your fork or spoon against the plate even a bit, it'll send shivers down my spine!! I don't care about road noise, I like it, my cabin aside from the rattles is filled with my cAI, exhuast, and the sound of road, it's awesome. but that rattle in the gauge cluster....

Actually, what's funny—and also really sucks—is I noticed some guage rattle on the way home tonight. Damn it. Well, I guess beggars can't be choosers.

Eh...just drill a 3/8" hole in the gauge cluster and insert a can of expanda-foam. That'll quiet things down.

Seriously though, I've had my xA for 9 months now and I don't hear anything. It's solid.
