Default Installing In-Dash Navi, need to know about VSS & Reverse Wires

Hey all,
I just bought an in dash Pioneer Navi, the AVIC-x920BT. The manual says I need to splice into the reverse wires and the vehicle speed sensor for proper navigation function. I am not sure if this affects the operation, but I wanted to know where I can most easily splice into these wires. Has anybody done this on their xA? Mine is an 05' with manual trans. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I installed a indash in my action Tc and I just grounded the pink wire so that way I could use it while driving not sure if it that helps tho.

The pink wire was what let the car know if it was parked and the hand brake was up

Now this was for a xB but should be the same for a xA. I was going to install a nav system in my before I went another way, Hope this helps...

Now that you have the upper dash off. This is the perfect time to splice your wires to connect the VSS and REV.

--> The VSS wire is the Purple\White stripe wire that can be found on the back of the fuse box. It's the 3'rd wire in a 18 pin plug up at top of the fuse box.
--> The REV wire is the Red\Black stripe wire that can be found on the front of the fuse box, It's one of the wires in the middle 9 pin plug.

One thing though, it seems like the fuse box should be in the area of the radio according to your post ("now that you have the upper dash off"). But my car looks like the fuse box is in the lower left of the dash near the clutch pedal.
