Moon discs on my xA...
After all the recent chatter about moon style discs on the xB forum, I decided to try them on my xA. These are the screw type and are not the hubcap application. Man, I should've gotten the hubcaps. It would've been easier. One sales guy said the screw type would be harder to steal...Hmmm...I wonder.
Sheez...In this application, I had to take the wheels off, then mark the holes on the rim, drill ( hoping no to puncture the tire). The discs came with self taping screws which I stripped immediately. Off to the hardware store to get some more screws. After drilling the holes with a #16 drill bit, I used a tap to make some female threads and used the new screws that were too long and were sized to the proper length. After install, I test drove it and some screws seemed a little loose or maybe I didn't tighten them down enough. Just in case, I used some lock-tight to prevent the screws from backing out... I hope. The only disadvantage is I have to remove the discs to fill up the tire.
Hey, what can I say...It's a cheap mod until I get the custom wheels. Next I will darken the windows and lower the xA 1.5 inches or so....
Here are the pics...I think the xA looks better in person. The xA now reminds me of some of the cars used in "Back to Future" or some sci-fi flick.

lol I had a pair of moons for my xB but when I turned into my bank the 3rd day I had them I seen something silver streak in the distance and I turned to my g/f and said was that one of my moons? I made her go out and grab it lol After that incident I didn't put them back on and put rims on it.

damnit. . . I'm lazy. . . no center caps (I'm trying to get the polished lip look). They look nice. . . better when they are actually clean. Ii'll take better pics when it stops raining out here
