Here you go, a video. The second attempt is a much better take off as he revs it higher before releasing the clutch, but he slams it on gear. You can take off without squealing if you took it easy with the clutch, which is made to wear and be upgraded when it wears out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMOlYHzbwow&NR=1

Default Torque of gas vs electric

This might take us in a different direction, but I think one of the reasons for a little lag is the response of a gas engine vs a true mechanical one like electric.

I've heard - and tell me if this is wrong - that an electric car leaves the line immediately. So acceleration is faster than most high-end sports cars.

Some of the fixes here are great, but they won't ever approach an electric engine.

**Don't get me wrong, I'm keeping my xA and not converting to electric anytime soon.

Clearly you don't have enough stickers. Stickers make cars burn rice faster

Right, most electrics have 400% torque at 0 rpms where as an ice has to whirl up to the rpm range and you are lucky to have access to 100% power that is dynos depending on outside temp, humidity, air filter, oil, gas, etc, etc. Then with an ice you a fluid transmission of that energy to the road.

Practice that that guy does in that video the second attempt and let off the clutch a little softer to not squeal tires, floor it after clutch is released 100%.
