A question for Xa/first gen Xb owners
#21
Here is an exchange I had with a Toyota parts department:
Me: (Gets out of car) Hey whats up I need to see your Xa parts catalog.
Salesman: Why? That's an Echo, right?
Me: Yeah but the parts will fit.
SM: I don't think it will.
Me: Don't worry it will
SM: No it wont, they are totally different.
(I move my car to an Xa with an open hood and open my hood)
SM: OH

I think they treat you that way just because the little name brand difference.

I've often said that the xB is so cavernous inside that it seems like there's an ECHO in there...
That was something that really irked me the first time I went to test drive an xB. I didn't know the Scion/Toyota split and the Scion-exclusive salesman wasn't there that late and the guy told me that I couldn't drive one without him. I was like "you've got to be *&^% kidding me! It's not like its some new technology, it's the ECHO I'm driving right now with different sheetmetal!" I was already on the chip with that dealership anyway...
