Running out of gas...
#23
My 2004 Xa has just shy of 30 k on it. I check my milage annally ( like every fill up, ever). I expect no less than 34 per mile ( summer with AC on) and count on 36 ish. I live in So-Cal (Santa Ana), I drive to and from Buena Park daily (easy freeway 5 mile's, light So-Cal traffic) and twice a week the dreaded 91, where the phrase stop and go was born, like 25 mile's in hour and a half or so. I drive like a grandma rarley "get on it", avoid the AC, unless with passanger's I also have no wheel mod's which I would think a larger tire would not be accuratly reflected in speedo or odometer. In my gauge it is a gas icon that blink's and last night I pulled 56 mile's before filling up, I was a little "scured" as it was raining and I was transporting a sick six year old.
That said I will try to follow the advice to avoid a low tank that might damage the motor.
Might expect better milage as motor loosen's up, I pulled a 41 on a trip to San Luis Obispo last year( at a steady 60 to 65 mph). Faster average speed's seem to net lower milage.
BTW I need to replace my spark plug's, and suggestion's or site's?

Lecarmat, I just had my car at The Dyno Shop, and their recommendation was to keep putting in factory spark plugs, but that I could change the wires to any of the aftermarket ones I preferred.
I've been getting only 23.5 mpg for the last year. The Dyno Shop diagnosed a bad/sluggish oxygen sensor. They replaced it, ran the car on the dyno, and it now runs like a dream. I am excited to test it and see what mpg I get from here on out.

(Assuming that your clutch is not slipping):
Unless you change your crank and/or timing and/or gearbox and/or overall wheel/tire size, you will ALWAYS go the same speed, relative to your RPM.
Even if you had a 20Billion HP Scion xA, you will still be going the exact same speed at 3000RPM as it does now. There is no way an oxygen sensor changed your that. Unless you messed with any of the electronics or speed sensors, which is unlikely. Now correct me if I'm wrong, of course. But I'm pretty damn sure.
