Pull out your seats, your door panels, and master your shifts, and you should be able to beat him, stock for stock, although it would be close. Older DX's posted slightly slower 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. Give him a small budget for mods tho, and you are toast. I've angered quite a few Civics with fart cans. . . although I was beat by a Civic (ONCE) on the highway, and I was doin 130mph (in my Lexus). . . maybe he had an intake

Modded(as in REALLY modded and not ghetto modded), those Civics haul booty.

Man, why rip apart your car to make a 17 second car shed a 1/2 second or less? Doesn't make sense.

eh... if that EG is actually modded... like a B16 B18 swap or something you won't even come close!! You gotta learn to drive man!! My coworker has the DX hatch with the D15 motor from the 97+ civic, with Injen intake/exhaust, 5 speed and I still killed it over and over like over 1 car length with my Auto Xa!!!

Comon~ man~ WTF!?

That Civic would run like a mid to high 15 with just an intake. He could have gotten wheel spin too - the road WAS wet. Either way, it was still dangerous

No IT DOES NOT!!! i think your talking about the Civic SiR with B16A 160hp which we don't have in the US/canada! Those DX/CX with D series single cam/without VTEC DOES NOT do 15s stock ... 0-60 in prob under 11-10 sec. with intake!

16.7 for the 5spd from the Motortrend "Smart Hatchbacks" article (Rio vs Aveo vs xA). . . I havn't seen the auto post under 18 seconds (why I got 5spd).

And for the others. . . as I said. . . you would not lose to a stock dx. You would even give newer EX's a run for their money. I don't know havn't checked on the 04's and newer (the current generation)

I've raced my friends 1999 Honda Civic EX manual and beaten it by two car lengths.

Then again, it's street racing where everything said is exaggerated to the tenth power

>>if it's stripped you will lose.. this civic in the video had no passenger seats and almost every piece of panels has been removed.. >> imagine this civic with a RSX-S motor can beat an Evo VIII.. believe it or not..

I don't believe it... There's no way a stock swapped K20 motor will beat the 4g63T, especially modded. My Evo ran a 12.4 with just a reflash, MBC and exhaust. A swapped civic might get into the high 13s or low 14s. I know this from experience. I've owned both cars (Integra and now Evo).
