Sub woofer? You got any details on it? if its a bazooka bass cannon, they sell an adapter to hook it up to the radio in the car. I have mines mounted behind the drivers seat. Its just a pass through connector that goes in the back of the radio and i grounded it to the parking brake bolt.

If you are talking about a box with a big speaker in it, well, you need an amp, run big beefy wires to the amp to power it, then tap into the speakers or radio to get a signal for the amp to modify to make your car go, boom, boom, boom with the beat of the music.

I had a generic adapter in the benz I use to drive and I would use an fm modulator with my ipod to hear it in the benz, then used a headphone jack to power the bazooka with a signal and plugged the power lines into the cig plug and got both bass and sound.

You basically know nothing about doing this right? That's the conclusion I'm coming to. Well, there's a lot to know, first off, you need to know what gauge wire to get with your amp kit (look here) http://www.the12volt.com/info/recwirsz.asp

Then you need to know how to wire them up. Is there just one speaker or two and whats the resistance 1, 2, 4, 6 Ohms and is it single or dual voice coil? Put that in here http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/wo...igurations.asp

Oh, and if you have a stock head unit it's going to make this even harder because you don't have the convenient amp out outputs like aftermarket have. I'm not sure how to do that part but that site has everything you need to know.

Basically there is a reason it was free. I would just resell it. It "can" be hooked up, but you need to know what you are doing, willing to do a lot of work.

If you want some extra boom to your tunes that is easy to install and designed for your car, look at this thread https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=235564 The bass cannon I have is behind the drivers seat and the harness plugs into the back of your radio. You can do this in less than 15 minutes and it adds the needed ext body to your tunes. If you want your license plate to rattle or the cars around you, this aint going to do it.
