Thinking about buying....have a few questions.
Hi all-
I'm thinking about buying a 2006 xA, but I have a few questions.
First, I'm hearing a lot how it's not a great car if you're super tall, but what about the opposite? I'm 5'1 and 100 pounds and I find that I sit with my seat almost all the way forward and all the way raised in my 2000 Lexus ES300. In the past I've had problems with being too short for a car, and I don't want to get my heart set on something that I'm going to have to sit on a pillow in. Most often i have a problem with the gas pedal being set way far under the dash, and I can't tell from the pictures if it's set closer or further away.
Second, since I am downgrading from a luxury car, how much more road noise can I expect to hear? I know this depends on the tires as well, but assuming stock wheels and tires?
The lexus was great, but i'm a college student and i'm beginning to think the luxury car isn't the right way to go. It does eat gas and it's not too efficient for carrying stuff- it's definitely designed for people and briefcases, not a lot of luggage. Though, I guess if someone is of the opinion that it would be better NOT to unload the lexus, I'd like to hear that too.
TIA for the help!

Most of your questions can be answered with a simple test drive of the car, but since you're here anyway might as well give you a hand ^^;
The xA has a higher seating posture than most cars and coupes. Upright seating gives great visability around you. One of my coworkers is around 5'2" and she has no problem driving my car. In fact, she liked how the dash was layed out in a way that she didn't feel small, but more "at level" with the car.
There will be road noise as these cars don't pack in the excess deadening material which equates to lighter car which then equates to better gas mileage. There's always a tradeoff when weighing your priorities, it's just finding the right balance so you can live with it for the next 4-5 years.
The xA has a good amount of cargo space. You'll be suprised to see how much stuff and people you can pack into these little cars.

I'm going for a test drive this weekend, unfortunately, I've had experience with the dealerships around here than have scions as well and I'm not looking forward to the experience.
I was hoping to get some insight in case there was an overwhelming response that the car wouldn't work, and thus i could save myself the trouble of going and dealing with car salesmen all day.
Unfortunately, i just got next year's insurance quotes on both my lexus and an '06 xA- $3621 for the lexus, $4035 for the scion. Both numbers hurt the wallet pretty bad.
