Toyota dealer (*&^)(& at Fit owner
I like the Honda Fit. It is a good alternative to the excellent xA. But this Honda Fit owner is a real jerk

can I mention how ____ed i would be if someone I'd never met walked up to me while I was in the middle of a deal to purchase a car and started offering his opinions on my purchase. It's none of your d**m business, I'll buy what I want, and it's extremely poor form to interfere with a deal already in progress.

IMO the Fit exterior looks plain and ugly. There are no mods you can add to make look better. the xA looks far better and more agressive. Just adding a 2in drop to the xA and its like a whole different car! If I wanted more interior space I would have gotten the xB. I also prefer the center gauges, it keeps the dash looking less cluttered and clean.
With all these new sub-compacts available now, the xA is STILL the best looking of the bunch

You can get a Mugen body kit to make the fit look better. But that guy is lucky it wasn't me cuz I woulda been like wth? Do I know you? That guy is stupid, if he doesn't like the xA , wth was he doing @ a Toyota dealership anyway? Sorry if I missed that part! He also got what he deserved!

Yeah, we're having a field day w/ him there. I'm surprised, though, it got to 4 pages, considering the amount of insults, etc. he's been spewing. Me, I'd of locked it long ago.
Oh, and JDM kits won't fit the NA Fit as the whole front was lengthened to accomodate the NA spec bumpers. We'll have to wait a bit, it seems.

this guy reminds of those religious/guru/scientologists who try to convert people to the "right" way. havn't done my research, but i wouldn't be surprised if the xA or Yaris is a better buy than the Fit.
Honda's have started becoming overpriced and are getting a different demographic since they started adding options like GPS and jackin the price up towards $20,000, ie people with money that want a Honda. The Civic isn't really the budget consumer car it once was.
So what's the verdict with the Fit out. Between the xA, Yaris, Fit, and others in its class, is the xA the best bang for your buck or did you guys buy it for other reasons?

This is my favorite part:
Ya. He could certainly tell that b/c the salesman made him stop trying to distract his customers.
What a douchebag.
The salesperson was clearly unhappy with his job and his life and he clearly had mental issues.

The Fit is actually pretty competitively priced... I just don't like the styling. Too tall, too long, just odd looking. The interior is nice, but honestly, so is the xA's interior.
The whole Scion crowd/scene is really what sealed the deal for me.

Hmm.. I'm on his side about having every right to tell the girl about another car she should check out before it's too late. We, as people used by everyone that wants a piece of our wallets, have to help one another out. I don't feel at all bad if the salesman at the toyota dealer lost his sale.. if that happens, it means he was selling an inferior product and shouldn't have gotten the sale. As far as it being "poor form" to stear someone away from a bad deal in the middle of a deal... I think it's, in a way, heroic.
Other than that, yeah, the kids a jerk to his fellow forum members.

^^ Part of the problem with him trying to "steal her away" (as it were) is that his claims were ridiculous and terribly opinionated.
"Twice the car" ... hahaha.
If he had said "hey, you might want to check out the Honda Fit... it's pretty close to the xA and might be a little better for x and y reasons..." then I might side with him. But it sounds like the guy is just trying to be a jerk about it b/c that's the way he is.
It was probably like "hey, don't buy that POS, you should get a Fit."

Unsolicited opinions are rude. She was there committing to a car, so she had to like it for at least enough reasons to decide to buy it, so to walk up and offer your opinion on that decision is rude and completely inappropriate. It is poor form to interfere with business that is already underway and does not involve you.
In this case, the salesman wouldn't have lost the sale because he was selling an inferior product- he would have lost the sale because some random guy walked up to his customer and planted doubt in her mind, which clearly has nothing to do with the quality of the product, since she didn't even know what a fit was.
It is inappropriate to walk into a place of business that retails a brand and start pitching a competitor, whether you benefit from it or not. Especially in this case, where the salesman's work was being intruded on by a honda fanboy who was just on the toyota lot to disparage the yaris. That's the salesguy's livelihood, he got the girl to buy the car, and to have someone walk in on that and interfere is completely inappropriate.

This guy would have had a police escort off the lot, just show him that we mean business. You have no "right" to be any particular place on private property. If they GM/Owner wants you to leave and you do not leave, then you are trespassing.
