I came upon a similar dilema before I bought my xa. I was to choose between a 97 Honda Prelude Type SH and the xA. Obviously, I chose the xA. No regrets.

Consider the cost of insurance. xA moderate, BMW and Mitsubishi high. Also consider that the used Lancer, BMW, Eclipse, Jetta, etc. probably aren't "gently used."
