Default Water leak under dash when raining

I've done a search but can't find anyone else having this problem. My wife was getting into her 2006 XA this morning and there is a pool of standing water in the driver's side floor. All windows were rolled up, and it has been raining hard for the last two days. I felt and it seems that all up under the dash is wet. I'm calling dealer now to make an appointment, but has anyone else experienced this? I'm familiar with the problem of a plugged ac drain hose (every car I've had has experienced that problem), but this has to do with rain water coming into the car draining down under the dash. Anyone else have this?

In my dad's 03 Mercedes he has that problem. Don't know what's causing it. I'm taking it to get looked at by the end of the week.

Make sure you don't have leaves blocking the drains from the windshield area - not sure about the xA but the xB will accumulate leaves in the plastic down spouts inside the fenders from the windshield area where they get in. Air vent side may be where it gets in and then it may run down an air duct to the foot well. Also check the wiring harness through the firewall and of course the windshield seal for dirt between the glass and the seal rubber.

If you added any wires through the dash for alarms, foglights etc... the rubber grommet may be alowing trickle of water to accumulate in car, just a guess

I've had it once or twice in my tC when I've taken it thru one of those touchless automatic car washes. Its on my passenger side.

That ain't right...... Is this the first rainstorm you have experienced since getting the car? Maybe the windshield is not sealed properly??.

I had that problem in my VW, but it was always the sunroof drain tube clogged by leaves or whatever. Does the xA have a sunroof, by chance?

Thanks for all the responses so far-I really do appreciate the help and ideas. No, there is no sunroof, and the car is bone stock, no mods of any type have been added, so no new wires going through firewall. I've got an appointment on Friday for dealer to look at, and I'll check for any leafs clogging anything or see if I can trace more precisely where it might be coming in. Thanks again!

*update* On Friday the dealer was able to figure out that the water was coming through the driver's side door. I have a followup appointment Wednesday where they will have to tear the door apart to figure out exactly how and why the water is coming in. I've already been told this is going to be an all day affair so they are giving me a loaner to drive for the day. I'll post again after Wednesday (hopefully that they pinpointed the source and have plugged it).
