Loosen both bolts on the Alternator, that acts as the tensioner.

there is a 12mm bolt on top. then there is a 14mm bolt right underneath the alternator. hard to get to and see. loosen the both bolts only. do not need to take all the way off. i haven't done one on the xa but on the xb you will need to take the right side motor mount bolts off and let the engine hang down to get the waterpump out. hope that is not the case with the xa

okay without a lift or a engine lifter what is the easiest way to get the motor back down on the frame from the mount?

I never had to unmount the motor, just the airbag sensor, but only because I don't have airtools and really like run-on sentences, they are the awesome.

Use a standard floor jack. Put a block of wood between the oil pan and transmission under the engine, jack the engine up to clear whatever it's hung up on, move it into position, then slowly lower it down over the mount point.
