Water in an xA

Water in an xA
I went to the water store today to fill up a 5 and 3 gallon bottle of water. On the way back home, as luck would have it, I had to swerve to miss an a-hole who pulled out in front of me and the 3 gallon bottle of water tipped over, the cap broke off, and the water went everywhere. The spare tire was in a big puddle of water, the back seat became soaked, and the water started seeping into the insulation under the carpet. My buddy and I removed as much water as we could with towels, took out the back seat, and removed everything from the luggage compartment as we could.
I ran the heater with A/C for about 30 minutes and then let the car sit with the doors open to dry. I'm just worried about the water in the insulation, that's going to take forever to dry. Do you guys have any other recommendations for drying out the car?

Thanks for the tips guys. I ended up lifting the carpet and removing the insulation between the carpet and the pan. Next, I pulled the carpet over the rear floor vents (thanks for the tip FlyerI) and cranked up the heater and A/C. I let the air blow for about 30 minutes and it seems to have done the trick, the bottom of the carpet is dry to the touch and the small beads of water on the pan have evaporated. I found one small puddle of water around one of the rubber plugs, so I pulled the plug and drained the water (thanks Hornet).

I had them in the cargo area. I usually secure the bottles with bungee cords but I left the cords in my wifes CRV. I guess I need to get another set of bungees for my xA. The good news is that everything is dry now and there are no fowl oders, it still smells like a new car.

Maybe I'll leave the insulation out...makes the car go faster without that extra weight
