What car did you trade or sell to get your xA?

I traded in my 99 Saturn SC2 three door coupe. at 88k. It was starting to get pretty rough running, and like most saturns, was burning about a quart of oil every 500 miles or so.
my xA is a light, airy, comfortable, refined joy to drive compared to that old saturn. On the plus side I'll give the saturn props for no major breakdowns or .. any trouble at all over those years and miles.

i walked up to the counter and emptied my pocket of change, a paper clip and a red and white marble. the guy really looked at the marble intently and after thinking for a bit he handed me the xA....
(not really, but the heading reminded me of a very old heart strings pulling crackerjack commercial...at least my memory is telling me it was crackerjack).

Well, not really traded in or sold, but gave it up.
Anyways, I used to drive a '92 Isuzu Trooper. Lifted 2", 32" BFG's, exhaust... went anywhere I asked it to go, even when stock.
Still love it to death, but the gas mileage & maintenence is too much for me as a HS student. I haven't gotten a solid 1000 miles out of it since last fall.

I cried a little, then went to the Toyota/Scion dealer and traded in my 2002 Xterra. I loved that thing. I still do !
But I couldn't handle paying all that cash at the pump. That thing got crappy milage! I am way happier driving the xA. With the Xterra I almost felt like I was abusing the environment- I had no need at all for the 4x4 or the cargo space, especially since I moved to NY. Nowdays I no longer do winter driving on gravel/dirt roads or drive thru the woods, or take groups of people out on Friday nights. Now I just go to college and work. So I really did not need the SUV. At all.
Finding a car that was not expensive, cool-looking, and one that got great milage made the decision to drop the gas-guzzler a lot easier!

I'm giving up...well...I'm trying to sell my 2001 Grand Am GT. The dealership actually said they didn't want the car! I can't trade it in, even tho it's low mileage and in great shape. They stopped making them, and now it's depreciating to the tune of about $80 per DAY. So, I'm having to sell it on my own, with no prospects at all. But my xA will be ready Monday!

Green '96 Civic Hatchback. Not a bad car, peppy.
Sometimes I miss its happy green color, especially in the rain, but I think on a car that already looks as distinctive as the xA, it would be too much.
I really like have four doors now though...it's a lot more neighborly, not to mention to shove a bookbag in.

I traded a 2001 Ford Escort SE 4-door sedan. It was a decent driving and reliable car, but I decided I wanted something more unique and fun, while still getting good fuel economy. The Scion XA has exceeded all my expectations and I have been very pleased with my choice.

Selling 2006 STI (white) sad - miss the performance rush and AWD
Got 2006 xA (p. white) happy again, cool car with great potential

I traded in my 2000 VW Jetta GLS in order to get my 2006 BSP xA. I had negative equity because of the trade in, but its worth it in the long run I think.

trading in my 99 pontiac grand am with 81000 miles on it. i'm getting 2500 for it cause i haggled with the trade-in people. LOL. the first offer i got was 1500, then went to a different dealer and got 2000 and said i wouldn't take the deal unless it was 2500 and they said "well, we don't want to lose you as a customer, so we'll give you 2500"

I traded in my 1995 Ford Probe SE with 121,000 k for only $250.00 LOL I know I could of gotten a grand for it on the street but it was a Ford with "Ford Problems" so I wanted to get rid of it ASAP. But Scion dealership stated it had "Transmission problem" and I already knew that once I walked in so the dealership probably made least 800.00 off of it behind my back LOL

I just bought my XA two days ago and this is my first post here. I traded in my 1999 Chrysler 300M. The car was nice but it had 109k miles in it and it didnt have much life left in it. I miss it because it was a great car but it was definteily worth getting rid of.
