The xA is awesome and a 2 inch drop and wheels will greatly enhance its appearance.

Test drive the xB before you decide. I got Scion fever when I seriously looked at replacing my Volvo with an xA. Really liked the looks of the xA and its size, Toyota reliability, etc. Drove an auto and it was OK. Thought it was well laid out with the controls and all. Then, drove the xB (auto and manual) while I was there just to make sure. Once I was in the xB, that was it! Loved it immediately after driving the manual. I live in Denver, so either one would do well in snowy weather from what I've read from customer reviews. It's really a matter of what you love when you drive it. Good Luck!

oldmanatee: How are you doing that kind of mileage???? I am barely getting 30!!!Mostly city, but I throw in a fair amount of hiway....

Basically I coast alot. There are several places in my commute where I can get up to speed, drop it in neutral (I have the 5-speed) and coast along at traffic speeds for a mile or so. It's kind of an ongoing game for me to find the best routes in town.

I test drove both and felt the xA to be a little more quick and nimble. I was suprised they both have the same amount of trunk space.

I would definatley go test drive it man.
I used to own a XB and some of the older cats on the board like stylis know my car.
Anyways i had to give it up to get a damn truck (05 chevy colorado)
Worst damn mistake i made. Toyota did a great job with there scions. I loved my xb even though i only had it for 5,000 miles, i had allready put spings, shocks, exausht, ect......
Great cars, you will love any scion you get, now i am thinking about trading my truck in, in a few months. And i am pretty shure its going to be an xa.
I cant wait to test drive one, i know my xb handeld great with the rsr springs, im shure the xa is a little better.

I love my xA too. It's incredibly economical and has great styling, well I think all the Scions have great styling. Stock suspension setup is ok, could be better. The stock 15"s have significant nose plow and understeer, well I thought so. But I just went to 17"s and that really got rid of the heavy nose plow under higher than average cornering speeds. I was really impressed how much better the car handled with just wheels and tires, well the tires are stickier too and tires make a lot of difference. But if the car responded this well to just tires and wheels I know when I add springs, it'll be another significant improvement.

I have to agree that no other car in this price range responds as well to slightly lowering and body kits like the xA.

It's not as well balanced or as fun as my Corolla, but I think it's almost the perfect daily driver.

The xA is nice. Reasons why I didn't buy the xA is because TRAC and VSC is not standard or an option on the xA (excluding the xA RS1.0), and the rear leg room. Not sure if this will happen but it is rumored that the US will get a variant of the New Toyota Vitz (currently sold in Japan). Hopefully it is the 5-Door version and not a 3-door or "sedan."

That is one SCARY SCARY photo (but nice looking car!). I'm freaking out about $2.49 gas in SC.

As for the xA... I love my car and so does everyone who sees it. I get compliments on it almost every day and have had people from 13 to 60-ish tell me how great looking they think it is.

My co-worker actually got one when they had to replace there car. She and her husband (they are in their 50s) got the Scion after careful research because of the great gas milage, safety features and great price. When they were thinking about getting an xA, they actually somehow chased down and cornered a guy who drives one that lived in their area. He loved his car too.

When my Plymouth van's transmission decided to give it up at 115K miles I needed a new car pretty much the next day. Liked the looks of the xA, loved the price and the gas milage. I couldn't be happier with my car.

For the price, it is the best car in the world. Good mileage. Nice looks. Good accessories options and after market prods. Great for cornering (may require lowering springs, bars and shocks) but stock works well.
Enjoy

they are slow but there is a little pep in them at 4000rpm. Nice interior besides the tach in the middle. Shift **** is too high but easy to shift besides a nagging grind in second gear. Great handling and exceptional gas mileage. MP3 player is the ____ too!!

But no where near the same storage space when you fold down the back seats. That and the head room make the xB the car for the big and tall crowd.
