What made you pick an xA over an Xb?

It's a HATCHBACK thing!!!!!
It's my wife's car. She loves it. Just finished school, got married, got a house and a truck. She said she wanted something small wich gave good gas milage. So she chose it. She wanted it blue but I told her that gray looked better WHY? because I had those wheels in mind before we got the car. Same color as the car. They look great.

I personally am a big guy and have NEVER felt cramped in my xA; if anything it has more room then my old Ranger. I will agree that the xB has more room but the lines and style of the xA fits me more.
As far as leg room there is some if you move the seat up but I rarely carry passengers in my car and have been told it is small in the back. I no longer have a 4 seater xA tho... I yanked all but the front interior just for fun.
I saw 5 xb's the day I bought my xA and they had the first load of tC's rolling off the truck. I glanced at the tC and walked past the xB's to sit in front of the xA's to chose a color. It’s all a matter of style between the xA and xB. Get what the masses get (the xB) or the Rarer (is this a word?) of all Scion the xA. If ya want power get a tC.
Really I like all the Scions and would drive any of the 3, I just chose to buy what fit me best and the xA was the one that caught my eye.
TOXA or DEATH!

I was getting out of an Echo lease, so the differences between the xA and the Echo didn't seem worth it to buy a new car, I could've just bought out the Echo and drove it for cheap. I was drawn to the funkiness of the Box. There's something about this type of divisive love-it or hate-it styling that I love and enjoy letting others hate. When I bought mine I had only seen one other Scion on the roads, so the popularity of either was a non-issue for me. As was SL or car clubs even, at that time...
I think the xA is fun and funky, I was just wanting a bigger change and something fun to commute in.
Don't forget, when Scion first got ramped up in the US, they were expecting to sell more xAs than xBs by like 60/40 or better. They had to really scramble when things went completely opposite and then some...

I remember one day seeing the xB roll up outside in the parking lot of the college I attended. It belonged to a guy who was taking classes to be a hair stylist... I thought, "I guess you have to be strong about your feminism in order to drive that shoe box piece of crap." But, nowadays, after seeing what the xB scene has turned into and after seeing all the cool things you can do to an xB and make it look the way it looks, I really don't think the xB is half bad, afterall. In fact, it grew on me...
But...
You'd like to think that this story is about how much I love my xB.. Well, to be honest, I don't drive an xB. I'm a proud owner of an xA. Why exactly did I choose the xA over the xB? Well, looks to be honest. Sure, the xB has its own unique style to it, but when I saw the xA Release Series, it was like this warm, fuzzy feeling. You know, like it was Christmas morning and my father was a rich, caring person.. So, after reading about it and what accessories it came with, I gave my dealer a call and in 3 days they had my xA at the door ready to be driven away.
Do I regret getting an xA now since I've seen all 3 models? Not one bit. I am flustered that the xA gets no attention from the media and aftermarket part manufacturers, but it still gets its love. Plus, having a vehicle thats the least bought of the 3 means that you are more unique than the rest of the Scion owners. And owning a RS 2.0, means that you are really more unique, because only 1700 people can have the same thing that you do, and when you branch off from that and do extras, that means that you are even more unique.
I guess I just love my xA because it fits me and my style. I'm a taller guy, not big, only being 170 pounds, but I have plenty of head room in it. Plenty of leg room. And a car that screams "modify me". What else can you ask for?

I had my hopes laid out on an xA, I thought they look sooo nice. then I sat in one and realized the same thing!

My main reasoning fell on 4 points:
In Hawaii, xB is the most popular version, with tC coming close in second. I wanted to be one of the few xA owners (all of which were older women, from what I saw).
Price. The xA is considerably cheaper, so I could add more to it vice the xB.
Looks. I think the xB is cool, but I've always wanted a hatch, and the xA gave me that oppurtunity.
I also talked my friend into getting the xB, and I didn't want to be the same as him. He's got a wife and a kid, so it better suited his needs. It's just lil 'ol me, so I'm not too worried about it! Another one of my boys has an xB as well, and I didn't want to copy....

My wife fell in love with the xA, limited release. We are proud owners of both the xA and the xB. The xA is just so darn cute. Unique style. The xB...? ....well, it is unique too, to say the least. I'm surprised by the gawks I still get from people. Some people even laugh at it. It is one goofy looking car/truch/suv/mini-van/station wagon. I've been asked, "What is it?" And I say, "I don't know. But I am loving it."

Hilarious...as if the xA is some how tremendously more economical than the xB.
I have BOTH cars. Wife has the xA. I drive the xB. We love both of them. The xA is NOT for big guys like me...and it is silly to try to argue that a guy who is 6'3" and 270 pounds should think the xA is just as roomy and comfortable as a xB.
The xA has a great look. It is a cool car. Stop 'dissing it.
Deal with reality folks.

Personally, my opinion for the xB has completely changed. When I first saw one I couldn't understand it's concept nor did I like it. Now after owning an xA, and being around the xB's a lot more, I'm all for them. The radical approach to styling is what I really like about them.

I hated the xB at first, then it grew on me. . . it's not so much the style (which isn't that bad in my eyes, anymore), it's the room! The xB is simply huge. The xA ain't tiny inside, but compared to the xB, it is. But compared to other cars that we have, the xA is fairly comfortable. . . in fact, it's a lot more comfortable than our IS300.
