Default WTH is falling off my xA part 2?!

Yes. Today's been one of those mysterious days. Was doing an oil change and was screwing back the underbelly flap when I felt this loose part inside my bumper (right behind the grill).

~15" x 6" - mostly flat plastic with some reenforcement ribbing on the back side. 53285-52110 printed on one side; 74R on the other.

No idea where in the world this came from, but it took some wiggling to get it out of there. Seems one of the two clip points (to whatever it is in there) broke off completely, so the entire unit just popped off whatever it was held onto. (The weakest design for holding a part like this onto whatever it's supposed to be attached to.)

1) What the heck is this?!? Can't figure it out at all - never seen anything like this in the front radiator to bumper area of any car in my life!

2) Do I need it?

3) How much trouble is it gonna be to buy a new one and put it back into place?

quick internet search reveals that it is a radiator seal...

i suggest popping your grill off and seeing where it goes...

I had two of those just bouncing around inside the bumper/grille. I tried to figure out where they went but eventually gave up and just left them off.

if its a radiator seal then i suggest you figure out some way to put it back on cuz more then likely it routes air flow directly over the radiator instead of being disbursed around it, like a fan shroud, which leads to over heating.
