i recently purchased an xA myself and had alot of accessory questions. so maybe i can help you. 1st off, 600$ for the 15" alloy wheels they sell is a rediculous price! i did alot of research on the net and found that you can upgrade your wheel size and get a way better set of rims and tire package for like 800 bucks. If you want to stay with 15" you can still get a way better set at a decent price. Tirerack.com or wheelstudio.com is the place to go. I got mine with the hubby's bc i plan on doing modifications to a 17", and besides that the winter ruins your rims terribly.

As far as the keyless entry goes, scion offers it for 599$. It's actually the security system, and it gives you the keyless entry. Go for it! It's works out alot better to get keyless entry and security when you first buy a car then to add it later. I know it seems pricey, but you never know when that alarm system will come in handy.

Scion charges alot for the rest of the accessory's, the only thing i would go with is floor mats and a chargo mat which comes as a set for 120$. The only reason i suggest this is because who the heck wants to buy a new car and not have it come with floor mats! The arm rest you can find on ebay for like 75$. The auto-dimming mirror is really pointless, and the bumper and gas cover applique is way to much for what their worth. Good luck!

thanks for the tips!

i'm still not sure about the rims.. i really like them and i don't know that i would ever go bigger than 15" anyway.. not to mention that i would like to add them into my financing instead of spending the money outright.

the auto-dimming mirror was something i really wanted more for the map lights than the auto-dimming feature.

so many decisions!

hmmm....not sure what you mean by that. If he's not worried about having an alarm but still wants keyless entry, why would he want to spend $600? I got a nice aftermarket unit installed with lifetime warranty for $140.

Personally, I think the cargo net is kinda useless. If you drive right from the dealership to Wal-Mart (or even get them in advance), you can save another $100 on those floor mats.

By the way i don't know who your insurancecompany is, but when you purchase a new car alot of auto insurance companies give discounts if you have a security system. i have allstate and even though my insurance went sky high, i got a 365$ discount for the security system. doesn't seem like much but every bit helps.

Most tint shop's charge around 150-200$ to get the xA done, this is for all windows except the windshield. As far as how dark you want them, the have a book at all the shops, they'll tell you what's legal, and what you can scoot by with.

You can get a Scionlife plate frame for 9$ on here, it looks great!

What color did you get?

Hmmmmmm, I got the mats from Scion.. got the cool name embroidered and everything.... The dealer threw them in for free.

I can't see paying for them, that would be a deal breaker for me....seriously.

Now, on to the touchy subject of rims....I can see wanting to finance them for want of extra cash...That is a choice that only you can make.. There are tons of rims out there that lots of people love that you couldn't GIVE to me...

That IIP is a great color. Especially in sunlight!

I didn't want to put out a ton of extra cash when I bought my xA, but I did want rims and tires. Here's what I did: I ordered my 4 rims and tires right away. As soon as they arrived I took them to a local tire shop and had them put on the car. Then the very next day, I sold my original tires, rims, and wheel covers on ebay. When it was all said and done, I only had to put out about $500 total, and I was able to get nice 16" wheels and great tires. Just a suggestion.

if you have the time and knowledge i would keep the stock tires and wheels for the winter. if you like scion's rim's get them, i personally think they are butt ugly. i didn't say get a cargo net, i said a cargo mat. it's just like a floor mat, but for the trunk, and it comes as a set.

I think i got ripped off i think, the dealer told me scion's are pure price and he can't throw anything in for free because "scion is what it is". I feel cheated. My dealer sucks, the would not bargin on anything

Yeah, they told me the same thing... I said "If I am buying 2 cars in one day, some floormats would look real nice".
I really expected the cheepie set, but I got the ones with the removeable carpet.

They aren't supposed to throw them in, but I am just so charming.....

I was actually trying to find that auction before I posted, because I couldn't remember the exact amount. It's been a little over a year now, so I can't pull it up. If memory serves me, it was somewhere around $125 plus $70 shipping.
I thought about keeping them for winter, but I didn't really want the hassle of switching them out twice a year. I got a good "performance all-season" tire that does just fine in the snow. Plus it's better in the rain and dry than the stock tires were.

Piece of cake to install. It ain't cheap, but I feel it's worth it. The basic armrest is around $130 and the optional leather top was about another $30. The basic model came with a black rubber pad that I didn't really care for. It kept getting a chalky-white look to it if I didn't keep it treated. The leather top looks 100 times better IMHO.

You probably borrowed a couple of kids from the local orphanage to stand around and look all pitiful and hungy while you negotiated.
