I own a 2006 automatic, and am trying to remove the center console to install lights. unfortunately, the instructions that came with the lights are for the xB manual. I searched around the forums, but could not find a detailed thread.
Can anyone help me out?

 

there is a great step by step diy for this here on scion life. but to give you a quick answer, pull out the silver edge pieces on either side of the center console. (I use a flat head screw driver at the bottom first to get it started) then remove the hvac ***** on the right and left side. there are screws behind these to undo. then pull the whole console forward.

 

I'm sorry, I meant the lower console. where the shifter is.

how exactly did you remove the center console because im doing the same thing???

 

In the rear cup holder, there is a large screw. Unscrew it, and the console should lift out.
