Ok, so I've owned my xA for 4 days now and have a long commute - 100miles every day - and I've noticed that after I';ve been driving for a while, the engine noise gets louder when stopped on a red light. Is this something other ppl have experienced or is this something i need to get checked out with my dealer? Thanks for your input.

 

Is the a/c on? That is a noisy little bugger...

 

nope, not the a/c. i turned it and the radio off and it's definitely coming from the engine. at first i thought it was the breaks. it's only there when i'm on drive or 2nd gear. never there on neutral or reverse. i haven't had a chance to go to the dealer yet but i just wanted to know if this has happened to anyone else. i have the base model, automatic transmission.

another question, does your blue engine warming light come on all the time? the dealer told me about it but it's been 95 degrees in nj the past few days and the light stays on for a minute when i turn the car on in the morning...

 

Yes, It means that your engine is not warmed up yet.

 

As far as idling, i have that issue. This seems to be the resolution:
