so zillion and i were talkin about this and thought it would be cool to do this. a big trip over to cali for a couple days and have a huge xa meet!! not anytime soon, probably next spring/summer. we figured it would be a pretty awesome event. we've talked about it before but never took any action on it. there is one thing we are trying to figure out. who else would be interested in doing something like this? so what do ya'll think?! lets see if we can make this work! it'd be nice to see all these BADASS xa's in one area. atleast i think it would!!

aren't summers in cali scorching hot?? i would really be down to goin back to cali... but this time with my xa. the team scion eyed club i'm in only has about 3 xa's? i think to make it fair we should all drive somewhere in the middle. either way count me in!!

TBH it really hasn't been that hot this summer. Perhaps later on in the dog days..but yeah, I've been through higher temps. in other summers.

 

Def make it middle ground around Houston or other central state so more xA's will come out, How about sponsoring chapters chiming in?

 

It depends where in Cali. , and what month.

Where I live, by end of June-September, from 11am-5pm , it gets to 110 degrees on the black-top (I'm 40 miles inland from the beach). If you driving HWY1(beach-side) , its 50-80(max) degrees all year long.

If you all end up making the trek out.. you should pick a southern/ or northern route.. then when you get to Cali. head up/or down the coast! Best time of the year to come would be late end of April-end of May, overall weather wise. Plus, usually its not until June/July is when the gas prices really start going up.

Actually, here last Jan. ... there was Black-ice on the road @ about 5-7am in the morning. That morning there were 3 big auto accidents, and 6 people lost there lives!

I'd say Spring, and Fall(mainly October.. early Nov.) are best here. Tends to be Dec.- early April is when it rains off/on (mainly off .. but you never know).

 

I would do Houston but not Cali. It would be redicilous for me to drive 2 straight days to meet fellow xA'ers but 18 hours to Houston is better.

 

Why did you mention Houston? Because it's where you live.

 

NO ... i live in Cincinnati.. I've driven to LA, San Diego, Houston and Austin MANY times in my life and from East Side stand point, its better to do the meet in Houston. Otherwise you wont have a good turnout. Trust me, nobody in the right mind will drive for either 2 days straight, or 3 days with stops there and same amount back, just so we can have a day with xA owners think about it.

yeah i did. i would love to drive out just about anywhere. already driven to l.a. and san fran. drivin to orlando next year. i suggested houston cause the 2 that started this post are from california and florida. so i figured somewhere in the middle would be close for everyone. but if people from up north are willing to then it would be cool to just meet somewhere in the center of the us.

 

I agree. Somewhere more central makes loads more sense. I'm not willing to drive Starlet for 3 days each way for at most 14 hours of a meet and greet. ;) That would take up all my vacation. A day though, might work.

 

I think what they are trying to get at, is that it would cool if everyone had their vacation to CA during the same weekend.

It wouldn't necessarily be a one-day thing. Obviously, that wouldn't make sense. But if there are people who want to take a vacation to CA for the weekend, why not meet up?

ok so i've talked to some other owners and here is another idea. asylum is in june. maybe we can do a meet there and then if people wanna go to cali they can. or we can go to cali first then go to asylum after. i just think it'd be awesome to go to cali and chill with people there. i know that cali is HUGE with the car scene and i'd love to show them that the east coast can keep up with them. ^_^
