You only need to replace the serpentine belt. Your xB doesn't have a timing belt, it uses a timing chain.

i got mine done for 50bux including the belts, tax, and work, but its much cheaper to do your self if your up to it, just be careful for the camshaft position actuator thing! the first time i had to replace mine i DIY'd and busted it! turned a $15 replacement to a $120 job.

Which belt does a lightweight pulley attach to?

I'm not sure about some of the internals of the engine, just wondering if it would be easier to upgrade since the belts are being removed already.

depends? you can get a lightweight pulley for almost every application, you can get underdrive pulley sets, just the crank pulley, or alternator, it could be either belt depending. i think we need a lil more specifics cuz theres 5 different pulleys.
but if this is your DD id say leave them be if there not broken/bent/worn. SOME aftermarket pulleys can cause unfavorable side effects, like not enough power to the alternator or overly stiff steering. the only real up to having lightweight or underdrive pulleys is reducing drag and moment inertia, the HP gain is almost negligible in our cars, maybe 1-3HP max.

Yes, The '06 xB has 2 belts as stated above. All internal is chain. Just got back from dealer here in AZ and they wanted $175.00 to do belts (2). Got decent Dayco belts at Pep Boys for $35.00 and will install myself as there seems to be a bit of room in there. Any "sticky's" or step-by-step on this, or is that even needed?
As always....Thanks to all!!!
